Well hello! Welcome to the family! I showed your post to my father, and he and your father are indeed cousins.. My dad always wondered what happened to your dad. Here's my info on that side of the family tree-
Rudolph Janota was born on June 7th 1919 and died on March 21st 1973. After separating from Barbara, he married Lottie and had two more children, David and Ronald. Rudy's siblings were- Mary (my grandmother), Leon, Edward, Genevieve, Sophia, and Tillie.
Rudy's parents were Anthony Janota (1883-10/17/1956) and Katherine Jurasz (9/23/1883-1/6/1969). We believe they were from Lesna, Poland since that's what's on their Ellis Island papers. Mary, my grandmother, was born in Zakopane, Poland, and there is a Lesna around there. If you're going to look on a map, look directly south of Krakow, practically on the Slovakian borderline; that's where Zakopane is (it's easier to find than Lesna). These towns are in a part of Poland known as Galacia, which was part of the Austrian Empire. Anthony came to the U.S. on 8/20/1907 on the Kaiser Wilhelm. Katherine and Mary joined him on 4/20/1909. They also came over on the Kaiser Wilhem. To my father's knowledge, they never lived anywhere in the U.S. other than Chicago, so that most likely is where Rudy was born.
Anthony's parents were Caspar Janota and Anna Kobza. their other children were Mary, Regina, Joseph, John, Michael, and Martin. We have no other info on these people, such as birthdates or places.
Katherine's parents were Joseph Jurasz and Katherine Dziedzic. Their other children were Anna, Martin, Michael, Andrew, and Angeline. We have no other info on these individuals either.
I hope I've been helpful! If you need any other info, feel free to email me. Let me know if you ever find anything out! Good luck with your search.
