My Great Grandmother Katherine Jurasz was born on Sept. 23rd, 1883, in Poland, possibly in Lesna. She married Anthony Janota, who was born in Jaslo, near the Slovak border. He came to Chicago on August 20th, 1907, on the Kaiser Wilhelm. She came to Chicago, along with their daughter Mary (my grandmother) on April 20th, 1909, also on the Kaiser Wilhelm. Their other children were Leon, Edward, Genevieve, Sophie, Rudolph, and Tillie. Katherine's brothers and sisters were Anna, Martin, Michael, Andrew, and Angeline.
