Does anyone know whether or not the spelling of the surname Jussaume may have been been changed to Jessum by some branch of the family? My grandfather had a first cousin named Stephen B Jessum born in New Bedford, MA in 1888. Stephen's parents were James T Jessum and Sarah Ellen Preece Jessum. I believe James was a Mason by profession and lived at one time at 6 willow St, New Bedford, MA.
At some point this family moved to Philadelphia.
