I'm interested in making contact with anyone with information concerning Berry Justice of Jefferson County, Alabama. He was the son of Charles and Martha Justice, who reportedly moved from what is now Henderson County, N.C., in the 1830s. He and his two brothers Charles M. Justice and Archibald Anderson Justice all enlisted in Company H of the 28th Alabama Infantry on March 2, 1862. His brother Archibald died in 1862; Charles M. survived the war; however, I have found nothing on Berry Justice beyond a report that he was captured in late July, 1864, near Atlanta, Ga. Berry had at least three children--James, William Anderson and Caroline Justice. His wife was Mahala McCarty Justice; they were married in 1853 in Jefferson County, Alabama. Berry Justice is my wife's great-great-grandfather. Her great-grandfather was William Anderson ("Anse") Justice who was married to Betsy A. Story in Walker County, Alabama, in 1878.
