Justus/Justice Family

I am researching the Justus/Justice line and have come to a screeching halt. My 3rd great grandmother was Olive L. Justice/Justus. Not sure of the spelling it could go either way. She was born about 1854 in Illinois, and was married to Milton Frazier from Bloomfield, Indiana. They were married in 1871 and had three children together Cyrus Alma (1883-1965), J. Everett (b.1872), and Lillian Blanche. Olive died on November 22, 1895 in Whittier, California. Not much else is known about her lineage, I have been unable to find her parents or any siblings at all. If you have any information about Olive or any possible connections with her, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!

It has been over thirty years since I located my 3rd great-grandfather working as a tanner in Chardon, Geauga County, Ohio. This is my direct male line and also my most difficult line. Any ideas on how to pursue John's ancestry would be greatly appreciated.

John R. Justus was born March 19, 1787 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and died September 10, 1863 in Geauga County, Ohio. He married Abigail Townsley April 05, 1818 in Geauga County, Ohio, daughter of Moses Townsley and Abigail Polly. She was born October 30, 1791 in Westhampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts1, and died October 03, 1859 in Munson Township, Geauga County, Ohio.

From the Pioneer and General History of Geauga County (1853)
John R. Justus, another 1812 veteran, settled in Chardon in 1817, and in Munson in 1829, setting up a tannery south of the old stone bridge.

From the Portrait and Biographical Album of Jo Daviess County, Illinois (1889)
John R. Justice, the father of our subject, was born in Westmoreland County, Pa., the son of a Revolutionary patriot, while he himself, in later years, was a gallant soldier in the War of 1812. He was a pioneer of Ohio, to which State he went from his native State in 1814, and there he engaged in his trade of tanner and currier for several years. He married Abigail Townsley, a native of Westhampton, Mass., and her father likewise was a brave soldier in the revolution. Of that marriage seven children were born, four of whom are now living: Polly (Mrs. Brainard), George, Lucinda (Mrs. Wright), and Sidney.

well it would b nice if thee is connection, because Aunt Donna Justus was married to Gene Allen Justus for 30 some odd years. but they are nolonger together. but from what i understand about it now she is living w/her brother who is also taking care of mom/dad or one of the other. i'll probaly have to get ahold of my uncle to find out where she at or her son gene a. justus jr. who is living w/our grandma at the moment. but what info. you do have please send it to me it would appreciated. thank you. then i could add more to my family tree of aunt donna justus.

If its the same Gene Justus and Donna L. Justus of Ill. I don't know Donna's parents name but Gene's parents names areBert W. Justus and Agnes Justus they are my grandparents and Gene is my Unc. Donna is my Aunt. But!!!! Gene and Donna are no longer together. They are Divorced!!!!!!! Becuase Donna cheated on Gene for 6 years. Gene's mom lives in Melrose Park,Ill.

1. LUDWIG2 JUSTUS (CHRISTIAN1) was born October 05, 1846 in Prussia, Federal Republic of Germany, and died November 29, 1919 in St Edward, Nebraska. He married MARY ELLEN SELLERS September 09, 1867 in Lanark, Carroll County, Illinois.

Notes for LUDWIG JUSTUS:
Ludwig Justus was born in Germany October 5, 1846 to Dr. Christian Justus and Tereas (Grull) Justus. At the age of 19 in the year 1865 he came to America and settled in Lanark, Illinois. In 1867 he joined in marriage with Mary Ellen Grull/Sellers who was also 53 years of age (Born April 1847 in Pennsylvania) in 1867. In 1900 they had been married for 33 years and had 10 children all living at the time of the census.

Ludwig had been in the U.S. for 35 years and was a farmer who owns a mortgaged farm (AG Sched. #73) and a Naturalized Citizen.

They made their home in Illinois for fifteen years, where Ludwig worked as a farm laborer and here six of their children were born.

In 1882 they left Illinois for Nebraska by immigrant train arriving in Nebraska and settling in the St. Edward Community in the winter of 1882. They lived east of town until 1884 when they purchased a section of land from the U.P.R.R. Company in the Woodville township east of St. Edward. Here they engaged in farming and raising cattle.

Ludwig Justus was 53 years of age in the 1900 Platte County Census.

It was in this community they stayed raising their family of ten children. Most of their children remained in the community after marriage and many of their grandchildren and great grandchildren, are still living in the St. Edward Community area.

Mary Ellen Justus died September 25, 1918 at the age of 71 years, after her death Ludwig, due to ill health moved into town, and remained until his death on November 29, 1919.

The children of Ludwig and Mary Ellen were Amelia (Justus) Fritzges, Clara (Justus) Stevens, Charles Justus, Laura (Justus) Lindaur, John Justus, Henry Justus, Kate (Justus) Bennett, Cora (Justus) Potter, Anna (Justus) Newton, and Lewis Justus.

Thanks for the reply & the info. I was trying to find the Strnad side of the family since they are distantly related to my maternal family.
