I am doing my family tree and came across the "KAACK "name. If I am right, Hans and Catherine Kaack are my GGGgrandparents. They came to America around 1847 settling in Scott County , Iowa.
I have noticed that the "KAACK" name is spelled as follows: KAACK, KOOCK, and COOK. I have found some information searching all three names.
I just thought maybe your ancestors and mine are related by siblings or cousins.

Hi, I have just discovered in Jels Haderslev Denmark a death record for my Great Great Grandfather. His name was John Fredrich Kaack married to Khristina Hansen in 1847. His parents names were Johann Kaack and DortheaKhristine Kartz. His children were Hendrich Fredrich Kaack born bat 1850 emigrated to America. Hans Nielsen Kaack stayed in Haderslev area. Johann Fredrich Kaack emigrated to America married Anna Christina Madsen or Madison in Denmark. Lived in Big Rapids Michigan. Doris Marie Kaack, Anne Khristine Kaack, Catherine Margareta Kaack, and Khristine Kaack.Hendrich Fredrich married a women named Mary and also lived in Big Rapids Michigan for a time. Hans proably had a son Hans who emigrated to Big Rapids Michigan in 1910. His mothers name was Mira Cox and he was from Jels whcih was in Schleswig- Holstein in 1910 but is now in Denmark. all who migrated to America changed their name to Cox. Im looking for ancestral information on HEINRICH KAACK who was born Abt. 1820 in Germany, and died Bef. 1920. He married ANNA HAUSCHILDT Bef. 1840 in Germany. She was born Abt. 1820 in Germany, and died Bef. 1920.

Children of HEINRICH KAACK and ANNA HAUSCHILDT are:
1. JOHANN CHRISTIAN KAACK, b. March 19, 1840, Bornhoved, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany; d. November 18, 1921, Nashua, IA.
2. HEINRICH JOHANN KAACK, b. February 14, 1867, Nortorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
