my grandfather's sister fanny kaiaokamalie was married to an edward kaanana b. (1882). i am not sure if he is from kohala or not but i am trying to find a link to kohala. their children are peter, joseph, louis and meleana. my grandfather's other sister kini aka jennie kaiaokamalie was married to elia helekunihi, jr who has roots in kohala, my tree shows them as "peter helekunihi kanana" and "joseph helekunihi kanana" info gotten from lois smith (don't know if they were hanai from kini or just happened to have the same names......going back on the genealogy, lois' husband elwood or ed's mother jennie uaia's family, they lived in mahukona the same time as my husband's family the kapaona-tampos ohana. jennie's parents are Pikake Uaia Hao KAWAIHAO & Mary Kahoohanohano Maunaolu HELEKUNIHI, mary is the sister of elia named above husband of my great aunt kini.......

My grandmother was Emily Kaai Thomas. Her father was James Kanohoinea Kaai, his father was Kaai Kaai aka George Kaainoa Or Kainoa mother unknown.

We are related to Sam Kaai of S. Kona. Samuel W. Kaai. He was married to Katie Kahumu. But maybe married to others. We have manny relatives in Kona. Whe was she born and who was her mother.

How far back do these names go? I'm looking for Kaais too, my great grandfather was Daniel James Kanohoinea Kaai, his father was Kaai Kaai aka George Kaainoa or Kainoa. I've been searching for years & keep hiting a wall. Help!

In my genealogy book I have a Kepekaio (Zebedaio) Uaia listed. Does that name sound familiar? My ohana is from the Kohala coast. I am searching for more information on my lineage. Or does Kaanaana sound familiar? If so, Please post a message back to me or email me @ cheverra_alvarez@hotmail.com.

Kaai Uaia, or Uwaia is my GGGrand Father. My Great GGrand Mother was Malei Uaia or Kaai. The Family is from Honopueo, N. Kohala, Hawaii.

I am not sure but I think that Jennie Uaia is an heir to Zebedaio Uaia ? Correct me if that is wrong, off hand I cannot recall the correct link.

I am from Kaai Uwaia or Uaia and Keaniani Kaneihalau.

I do believe that we are distant cousins, please contact me about more information that we can share about our Kupuna's.

Unfortunately my wife tells me we have no other information on the Uaia's. My mom's grandparents were Sam and Mele who lived in Niuli'i near Pololu Valley on Hawaii.

We know very little about the Uaia's. My mom was hanaed by her grandparents, the Uaia's. I'll ask my wife for some details since she's the geneologist in the family.
