ANNA KACIREK VAP

Anna A. Kacirek was born Feb 10, 1908 on the farm in Rawlins County to Victoria Waiss and John KACIREK.
Her great love of the outdoors started as a child on the farm north of St. Johns Church. Her father helped build St. Johns where the family attended mass. Her mother died when she was 9 years old. On Sept. 28, 1926 she married Joseph F. Vap in St. John's Church in a double wedding ceremony with her twin sister Agnes and Matt Kantor. Preceding her in death were: her parents, husband, daughter, Yvonne, son, Melvin, brother, Theo, sisters, Rose Janousek and Mary Horinek, half-brothers, Augustine and Raymond, and half-sister Betty Jane, great-grandchildren, Rebecca VAP, Bruce DeVader, and Margaret Mary VAP.
She is survived by her children, Leonard and wife Evelyn, daughter-in-law Irene Vap-Guth ,both of Atwood; Sister Joseph Ann of Belvidere, Ill.; Ramona and husband Bill Hanson, and Virginia Hamilton both of Salina; Geraldine Lane of Topeka; son-in-law A.J. Ripperger of San Antonio, Texas; Leo and wife Ellen of Overland Park; and Eugene and wife Gretchen of Petaluma, Calif.; Also, twin sister Agnes Kantor, sister Henrietta Horinek, both of Atwood; half-sisters Frances Hubka of Wilson; Marcella Stolph and Catherine Chapman of Atchison; half-brothers Joseph of Omaha, Neb. and Norbert of Denver; 27 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
Anna was a member of Christian Mother's Altar Society and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She died 16-Feb-1990 in Mt. Joseph Nursing Home, Concordia, KS, interment at Mt. Calvary Cem, Atwood, KS.

Her father John (1872-1958) was the son of Frank KACIREK and Katerina Schebal. Her mother Victoria (1869-1917) was the daughter of Frank Waiss and Anna Cidlik.

Error in obit: She was preceded by "grandchildren" Rebecca, Bruce & Margaret, not "great-grandchildren".
