Looking for the family of Frank Kaczmarek in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I found an obituary with his siblings, no wife listed, I think he is Julia Derdowski's husband, but not sure, if that is true they were divorced, because she remarried before he died. He was born Oct. 12, 1885 died 1965
They were in Bay City, Michigan also and then moved back to Milwaukee.

Frank Kaczmarek married Julia Derdowski June 1906 in Bay City, Michigan, they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His parents were Katherine Hofman and Andrew Kaczmarek. Julia is cousin to our family. She remarried John Paluszewski, and I can't find out much about Frank, I don't know if they divorced or if he died young. There is a Kaczmarek family in Milwaukee, with a Frank listed in 1910, don't know if that was him or not.

I know this post is several years old, but I just ran across it. Anton & Hedwig Kaczmarek of Northeast Philly were my great-great-grandparents. My line descends from their eldest daughter, Stanislawa, who married John Berczynski of Chicago in 1903 and relocated with him back to Illinois.
I do not yet have any details related to Anton & Hedwig prior to their 1895 arrival in the US, but I do have a fair amount of info on them and their children after that point. Please feel free to contact me or search for my public tree if you're still interested. I haven't scanned it in yet, but I believe I have a photo of Hedwig as well.

Ron

Just found an addition to this: Neopucena Kaczmarek m Johann/John Tarka. Johann Tarka and his wife Neopucena Kaczmarek were godparents to two of of my g-g grandparents children (Veronika and Josepha Labijak/Labiak). The Labijaks lived in Iwno and Tarkas in Siekierki (near Posen/Poznan, Poland). The Labiaks moved to MI, by way of Baltimore. My g-g-grandma's maiden name was Kaczmarek, so they are probably related. I'd appreciate any information that might connect to them.

Donna
I am related to Frank Kachmarek through his second (or third) wife, Anna. They lived in Plymouth, PA. He died in 1924. He was born in 1848 in Poland. I also knew their daughters, especially Frances, very well. She was my great aunt. My grandfather was her 1/2 brother through their mother. Frances died in 1971. I tried your earthlink email but it bounced back. I hope you check this sometime and contact me. I am mystified by the connections to Colorado and Michigan.
Carl Reichart - carlnepa@yahoo.com
Yes, I guess it is possible now that you put it that way. Do you know any more about Michal and the family that moved from Poland? Siblings? Immigration dates? Where they were born? What church they attended? Any little clue helps.

I have befriended two Kaczmareks that live in Poznan, Poland through Facebook. They are both willing to try to help me find information in Poland that I haven't been able to access. Problem is, Kaczmarek is SO common in Poland - especially in Poznan. One of them told me that Poznan is called the "City of Kaczmareks"!!!

I think without having a professional genealogist or actually traveling to Poland, my search is going to be a difficult one, for sure!

Please share any links, other family trees, or contacts that you have used to find what you know...I would appreciate it so much!
The years don't seem to correlate. The brothers I'm looking for would have been born somewhere between 1850 and 1860. If your g-grandfather was born in 1921, it might have worked, but your ancestors all seem to be born way before my g-g-grandfather (1854).

Thank you so much for trying to help, though! I treasure any and every clue I can find...there are way too many Kaczmareks in Poland. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack!!

I am searching DESPERATELY to find the SIBLINGS of my g-g-grandfather, Vincent (Wicenty/Wigurty) Kaczmarek of the Poznan, Poland area. His siblings were Michal (Michael), Adrzej (Andrew), Marcin (Martin), Jan (John), and Marianna (Mary) - all born in Poland. Father's name is rumored to be Jozef Kaczmarek - have no concrete proof of mother's name.

Vincent was born in 1854 and emmigrated to Minnesota around 1873 from the Gdansk area. We suspect Michael and Andrew had emmigrated (to the Scranton, PA area) before Vincent and helped him enter the country illegally (to avoid the Russian conscription). Mary also immigrated, but to Detroit, MI.

Vincent married Victoria Drewicke in Hastings, MN in 1878 and were parents to Lawrence (1880-1961), Ann (1882 - died in infancy), John (1884-1931), Leon (1886-1971), Mary (1888-1934), Lucy (?), Joseph (1893-1977), and Theresa (1895-1987). Vincent died in Perham, MN in 1927.

Could anyone out there be the decendants of Michael, Andrew, Martin, John or Mary??? I need the connection to be able to find Vincent's parents and ancestors in Poland. PLEASE help if you might have a clue.

Andrew, Catherine, Anna Kaczmarek from Ashland, Wisconsin Area

My great-great grandmother is Anna Kaczmarek (born 24 May 1874 in Silesia Region, Poland). She married a man named Stanislaus Brzezinksi on September 9th, 1890 in Ashland, Wisconsin. Anna listed on her marriage registry that her parents were Andrew Kaczmarek and Catherine Pehro. Anna came to America when she was around 12. Upon reading, "The Poles of Ashland, Wisconsin: 1884-1888", the name Rozalia Kaczmarek is listed as a patron at St. Agnes Church which is where Anna got married. I do not know who Rozalia is or what ever happened to Andrew and Catherine. If anyone had any info that can help me further my research I would be forever grateful.

Thanks,
Carrie

He had a younger brother named John, but was estranged from the family after he left Poland to avoid the Russian draft. I am desperately searching for Vincent's siblings: Michael, Andrew, Martin, John, and Mary - and parents (possibly Jozef/Kathrina??). Micheal and Andrew supposedly settled in the Scranton, PA area. Mary went to Detroit, MI. I have no information on Martin and John.

Sorry it took so long to answer. My father also had five other brothers and two sisters. He grew up on 5th Place in Milwaukee. One of his sisters was Sylvia and one of brothers was Edward. I do not have much information on his family. I do know that his father's name was Andrew and his mother's name was Marianna or Mary. She died when I was very young and I never met my grandfather. Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated.

I am looking for the Albert Hankiewicz family in Cleveland, Ohio. He married a Rose Kaczmarek and had six children:
Chester, Celia, Gertrude, Florence, Clara, and Steve.

Albert was born around 1877 in Poland.
Rose was born about 1880, I think in Poland, but I am not certain. I am uncertain about so many things regarding this family.

If you can help me, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you, Martha

Hi Kelly, I think you a correct that Michael and Joseph were brothers. It is also possible that Margaret and Barbara were sisters.

On the 1900 census, Barbara is mother of 7, 2 living. Stanislawa/Stella is lving with her. I have to look at the 1894 census for Stanley.

I also found the second marriage of Stella (now Estelle Jacob) to Alex Barber on 19 Jul 1915 in Bay City. Stanley Preszynski is listed as stepson on the census

I have more civil records coming from the FHC so that may reveal more.
Also, I have had great luck with the Gielda history.
Say hello to your mom and dad for me!

Me, again. I believe that the child of Joseph and Barbara who I thought was Stanislaus was actually your Stella, which is Stanislawa in Polish.
So after John died, she married Alex Basler, is that correct?
If you go to the Bay County site on USGenWeb, you can see the tombstone of Barbara Jakubczak, b 1839 and died 1925. She is buried at St Stans cemetery in Bay City.
Hope this helps. Have fun searching.
fran

Barbara was the wife of Joseph Jakubczak, a possible relative of Michael.
He married Barbara "Kauma" in Giecz, Poland in 1864. (With thanks to our friends of the Poznan Project!). Joseph was born 1832-34 and died in Bay City on 17 Sept 1887.
I will see if I have any more info on Barbara. I know they had at least 3 children: Catherine and Jacob, both born in Poland, and Stanislaus, born in BC.

Was your Stelly a "Stella/Stanislawa"? Do you have any other info on her?
Anything could provide a clue.

Hi Janice!
I'm sorry, but those names do not ring a bell. May be a nickname? If you have other info (you state you have limited info...) I can see what I can come up with!
Good luck on your search!
