My father Joseph Leschek was born in 1916 in the US to Charles Leschek and Anna Gec who immigrated from the Ukraine or Poland. My Fathers baptismal certificate had the alternate spelling of "Leszczyk".

Hi, I'm sorry I know nothing about my grandfathers family, he was Peter Kazor. All I know of him is his DOB was in 1889. He lived in Syracuse, NY in the early 1900's. I don't know where he was born or about any siblings or his parents. Lori Jensen :)

Iam trying to find more on Anna Kaczor, born 2 Feb. 1880 in Przeamysl, Poland, married to Demetrius(not for sure) Kowal. She immigrated to NY Oct. 17, 1921, with children Ivan 15, Maria, 14, Stefam, 12, Eva 8. Eva is found in a convent in Ohio in 1930, and Mary/ia is married to John B. Asimakopoulos in 1930 with baby daughter Helen, and about to have 2nd daughter Anna Marie.
I cannot find anyone of the Kowal, in the US in 1930. In your reasearch have you run across them in Ohio, IN, or ILL?Thanks.

Wanda Kaczor, 96, De Pere, formerly of Owen, Wis., passed away early Tuesday morning, April 11, 2007. She was born Aug. 1, 1910. Locally her daughter, Jacqueline Grun-Tuesburg and her companion, Kenneth Kimball, survive Wanda. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michele (Roger) Sterckx, Michael Grun, and her great-grandchildren, Tavia and Kenneth Sterckx, and Travis Grun, as well as nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Owen Wis., under the direction of the Maurina Funeral Home, (715) 229-2646. The Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family locally.

I am searching for information about a John Kaczor, Michigan Resident, Born before 1900 in Poland, possible Weiss or Giriacc, Poland. He is the brother of Jacob Kaczor, born 1888 in Giriacc, Poland, Immigrated to Canada via Montreal on 5/23/1910 and worked at the Ford Auto Factory with his brother John in Detroit. He and his wife Anna lived in Windsor, ontario, Canada until they passed in the late 60s or ealy 70s.

Do you know of this family could they be related??

I have found Kascur/Kacsor from my ancestral village of Zboj (Harczos) Slovakia, circa 1900. They went to Scanton, PA Corning, NY I have seen immigrants to Minn. in the www.ellisislandrecords.org database. Have you sought this out?

There is an Andreas Kascur who arrive Ellis Island 1906 age 37. Previously lived in US from 1900 to 1902. Destination was Allegehny. Is this a fit? He is from my ancestral village. Where is your info from? Austria and Hungary would take us to two different places, so we need to be certain.

Now that I re-read your message, I am unclear on what the complete name of the Kacur names are you are looking for. I don't understand the relationships.

his father name was mordechai.
i know that one of his aunts lived in the u.s.

I have a Paul Pyznar who was married to Sophie Kaczor and lived in Poland. My relative is their daughter, Sopie Pyznar who came to the US in 1896 and married my grandfather, Martin Godlewski in Chicago in 1897.

There is also a Martin Pyznar maybe an uncle to Sophie. Martin Pyznar's daughter Catherine married Joseph Godlewski (Martin's brother) and his other daughter Stefania married Joseph Orlikiewicz and when he died she married Joseph Zych.

If there is any connection with either of these names, I would really appreciate it if you would contact me.

Sorry aout the delay in answering. I have seen the name spelled various ways here, but in Poland it is Kaczor. I'm sure some families kept the new spellings. Where in Poland was your family from.

searching for my father's half brother

My father's name is Kaczur Gabor. He was born in 1949 and he lives in Hungary. He has a sister called Kaczur Hermina and a brother Kaczur Jozsef. Apparently, they also have a half brother (from my grandfather named Kaczur Jozsef<died years ago) according to my grandmother (<Nemedi Hermina) but nobody seams to know his first name and his where about. I am researching my husband's family history. I have a baptism document for his great great grandmother indicating that she was baptised in 1899 in Minnneapolis Minn. The ceritficate lists parents as Michaele Kaczor and mother Susanna Fedor. The certificate is in Slovak. The church is Holy Cross Church. I have no other information on family members. Later documents list his grandmother's maiden name with the following spellings.... Kacsur, Kachu, Ketcher, and Catchea. His great great grandmother later married and moved to Ohio. Hi Marian, My great-grandmother was Marianna Kaczor Pyznar. She married Paul Pyznar. They had a daughter, my gr-mother, Zofia Pyznar in 1877 and she married my gr-father, Marcin Godlewski in 1897 in Chicago, Illinois. Zofia died in 1907 at the age of 30 after giving birth to a daughter. She is buried in Chicago. They are both from Osobnica. I do not know how close Zeglce is to Osobnica, but I hope that maybe you could research if any of Marianna Kaczor's family might be still there. Intresting. I'm living in Sweden and I have just returned from a genealogical trip from Polish Galicia and the small villiage Trzesniow. I am currently searching relatives to my great grandfather Bartholomeus Tabisz. He had one sister with name Agnes Tabisz, which is born 1866. Their parents was Paulus Tabisz and Carolinae Kaczor. Caronlinae's parents was Lucae Kaczor and Barbara Madej (or Madey). I have just seen all that in a parish register (I have a digital photo of that). I also visited cementery in Trzesniow and there is lot of Tabisz and Kaczor. In addition to all that there is a book of the villgae Trzesniow which is describing their old traditions and immigration to America. The book is written in polish. My great grandfather is born 1873 and visited Pittsburg two times. At the end he returned to Poland. I don't know exactly when he visited America, but sometimes between 1893-1902.

I find this very interesting. My great-great grandfather was Michael Kaczor married to Malgorita Tabisz. I have nothing on that side of the family but lots on the Kaczors. They had a son Bartholemew who was my grandfather's father and he came from Tresniow near Brozozow. My grandmother Mary Jenny, wife of Sylvester Owsiany, came here to America in 1908, I believe, with Son Raymond and daughter Sophia. We also have Kascur and also spelled Kacur in Johnstown coming from Austria or hungray around 1898 and 1902. These were my grandparents Andrew and Mary (Haky) Andrews father was Joseph and his mother was Mary Stefanik she died leaving at least four children. greatgrandfathers name was Joseph Kacur or Kascur somehow the names were changed. His son Andrew came to america in 1896 at the age of 17. His mother was a mary stefanik who died in the old country. His father remarried a Anna Haky. I would like any information on the family or how I could get birht records or marriage recordsl They came from a town called Speiss Lackova which they list as being in Austria. Thanks Jenny

I found the Andrew Kascur that you spoke of His will is in Cambria County for some reason. My grandfather was also a Andrew Kascur (kacur) but they are not the same. My grandfather died in 1963. My grandfather came from it saids Spiss Lackova in Austria my grandmother is 16 when she comes here in 1902 Mary (Maria) Haky coming from Ruzsba, her mother comes from the town of Csertesz, do you know where any of these towns are I take it they are in Austria or Czechoslovakia so many people were who knows what they called it I think it was somewhere close to the Polish border. This is all I know of my Husband's maternal grandmother's family. can anyone jump start this line of the family tree?
Husband, Albert Richards, changed his name three times (Richardt ? Richard? Richards etc). Germany/Poland? He said he was orphaned when the Kosacs raided his village. He was 10 and had been out in the field. He made his way through Europe and to the USA by the time he was 13.

John L. Kaczor was my great grandfather. His brothers were Peter and William. John spent most of his life in Garfield Hts, Ohio, which is right next to Cleveland. He died in the 1940's, before I was born. (I'm only 34 years old).
He was married to Helen (nee Olbert) and they had four children, Mitchell, Arthur, Eleanor (Pekarek) and Lottie (Gawronski). Lottie is my grandmother. Her birth name is Wadislava.
I have absolutely no information on John's family, parents or otherwise. Please e-mail me (or post) and let me know what information you have.

Looking for information regarding my great-grandparents. Not sure if they had any siblings in USA. I don't recall ever meeting any uncles (according to death notice, John had two brothers: Peter and William)
Helen came from Poland at the tender age of 14, leaving her sister behind. They lived in Cleveland/Garfield Hts. area. Never knew John. Helen passed away when I was three. Dim memories.

When searching the Ellis Island records, I found a Paul Kaczor who would be about the age of my grandfather . However, the manifest states he arrived in Pittsburgh. My grandfather lived in Chicago, though he may have originally come from Pittsburgh. The manifest said he traveled with a brother. I can't access the list right now but will try to find this if it might be of help to you. they listed their home as Trsesniow, Poland.

My father was born in Malden, Mass. in 1903. My grandfather and grandmother came here in the 1890's. My grandfather died in 1906. My grandmother moved back to Poland and remarried and provided my father with 2 half-sisters who I have lost all contact information. Last week we lost my nephew William III in a tragic accident. He was putting together a family history, this may now be lost.

Gustav E. Kaczor was born Feb. 20, 1868, in Karwenhof, West Prussia. He died March 11, 1952, in Wisconsin, and was buried in Allenville Cemetery in Allenville, Winnebago Co., WI.

He married Anna Niemuth (born Dec. 1877).

Clifford E. Kaczor - 1894-1973
