My grandfather, Frank Nowakowski, married Valerie Kaczorowski in 1917 in Poland, Ludz, I think. They came to the US in 1918, to visit relatives. If I understand correctly, both of my grandparents had siblings who married each other (two Kaczorowskis married two Nowakowskis) and some of the family settled in and around Camden, New Jersey.

My mother was born in Camden. Her parents returned to Poland until about the 1950s. My mother's uncles and aunts remained in the US.
