For this question, I will give a little history. My husband's grandmother, Katharyn, came from Poland around 1900, through Pennsylvania into Indiana and finally into Oak Forest, IL. We have traced her movements fairly closely. She married a Piotrowski and had four children, John, Edward, Josephine, Samuel. She then married another man and had one child, Andrew. In or around 1913, John Kaczynski comes to America aboard the ship, Carmania, which docked in New York City. He goes through Pennsylvania and to Chicago, IL. He registers with the Draft Board in 1918/1919 during the WWI registration. We find him next in the 1920 Census married to Katharyn and having a son, Bernard, in IL, Cook, Bremen, area. Next in the 1930 census, he is married to a Mary, living with his three children (Bernard (Bennie), Verona (Veronica), Helen) next door to Katharyn and her five children in IL, Cook, Bremen. The problem here is he supposedly was in Detroit working for the Ford Plant in 1930 and there is a John Kaczynski living in Detroit with a wife, Mary, and children Jennie and Luciel in the 1930 Census. What I would like to know is if someone out there is related or knows what happened to John Kaczynski or his children from the Detroit area. I would definitely be willing to share what information we have on this side of the family. Thanks.
