I am the great great granddaughter of Jon Kadau and Agusta Golm via their son Ernest Charles Kadau (parents Prussan) and his first wife "kate" or Kathleen Anderson (parents from Norway)- both were from Detroit, Michigan area. Their youngest daughter, Marion Kadau, is my grandmother. Marion is 89 and I am helping her trace a bit of her past.

Kate, her mother, passed on when she was between 2 and 5 yrs old. She gave birth to a son just before her passing. His name was william or "Billy." Billy was put up for adoption between 1917-1921 (around the time Kate died?). Kate and Ernest had 4 other children together... norma, jack, george, and marion. It was rumored that Billy was fathered by a doctor durring kate's stay at a hospital after a breif mental breakdown. This is unconfirmed.

What I am after...
I would like to know more about Kate Anderson "the black Noregein," as people teased her because of her heritage and her beautiful black hair didn't seen to go together. She may have been born in June 1885 to Chris? Anderson. This information I got from the 1900 US census. Chris (june 1853)was listed as married 21 yrs on the census but no wife was listed. kate may have had sisters (we know that an older sister from chicago wanted to adopt Norma after Kate's death). The 1900 cencus listed an older sister, Hilde (born april 1884) and 3 younger sisters; A___ & Martha (both born May c. 1887- twins) and B____ (born May 1892). That's all I have come up with for Kate Anderson.

Ernest was one of 8 children? Source is Diane Moyes Post on Ancistery.com on 9 November 2003. I have tried to email her with no sucess. We seem to share a common Ansistery in John and Augusta Golm Kadau (Ernest's Parents). I will be doing graduate studies in Austria over the next 2.5 years and wanted to find out more about this line whilst I was there. I believe that John's parents were Johann F. Kadau and Anne Schreber and that Agusta's Parents were Frederic August Golm and Louise Schroeder. Well, that's everything I "kind-of" know. Anything futher would be greatly appreciated.
