Cathy: Thank you. Unfortunately, this is not my grandfather. Grandpa Kadow was born November 10, 1876 and died in December of 1952. He remembered have a younger sibling as he got chewed out for over-balancing the high-chair that this sibling was in. His mother died of childbed fever after another baby was born. He thinks the baby died shortly after. He lived with his father's folks until his dad was killed in the rail yard after throwing a switch on the tracks in Dubuque. Then Grandpa was sent to stay with relatives of his mother's. Their name was Schetzle (I am not sure of the spelling, this is just a guess.) There were two bachelor brothers and two spinster sisters in the household. They ran a pharmacy. My dad's brother went up to talk to them years later, but they would not talk to him as my grandfather had joined my grandmother's church when they married.
