John Henry Kaempf 1821-1898, Columbia, IL (Monroe Co.) was my great grandmother's stepfather. He married Theresa Mayer or Theresa Marks. His stepdaughter, Caroline Steve, married Henry William Schaiper, all of Columbia, IL.

I also have a Charles Kaempf 7 Sep 1874 - 19 Dec 1951, marred to Anna M. Kaempf, 7 May 1879 - 5 Mar 1958, who is definitely related to my grandmother, but I cannot complete the connection.
