I am researching the GELIS family in Chicago, and one daughter Henrietta GELIS (also known as Louise GELIS or Louisa GELIS) married Charles KAGELS in Chicago on 26 Oct 1879 at Immanuels Church (Lutheran / Evangelical) -- marriage performed by Rev. Louis Hoelter. She was 21 and he was 25 and they both resided in Chicago.

I have no record of them beyond this, except for a mention of them in the probate records of her parents in 1891, which give no further information.

So if you have any information on them or are a descendant of them, I would very much like to hear from you.
