COPLEY, Ohio: On February 28, 2010, Raymond F. Kagy was reunited with his wife to tend more beautiful and everlasting gardens in heaven.
Raymond was born on August 30, 1911, in Seneca County, Ohio.
Raymond was a longtime resident of Copley, Ohio, and an avid and passionate gardener. He was a member of First Grace United Church of Christ, where he was an honored and conscientious teacher of the Friends Class. Raymond was an active member and participant in local civic and social organizations. He was a charter member and former President and Secretary of the La Sertoma Club, and a founding member and Trustee of the Akron Sertoma Foundation, Inc.
He was a founder and President of the Akron Area Heidelberg "H" Association, and contributed his time and effort to many worthwhile causes. He was at the time of his death President and owner of Advanced Air Equipment, Copley, Ohio. Raymond was a graduate of Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio, where he received a degree in engineering.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet J. Kagy (Rose); his parents, Marcus Kagy and Ida Kagy (Hartschuh); his brothers, Howard Kagy, John Kagy, Nelson Kagy, Leonard Kagy; and his sister, Mabel Kagy Kilper.
Raymond is survived by nephews; nieces; friends; family; and business associates too numerous to mention.
Services will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, with Rev. Robert Dreese officiating.
