Seeking information on a Mrs. Bert Kail of Seattle, WA. She married Herbert S. Carpenter in western Colorado and they moved to Seattle. In 1914, Herbert committed suicide, leaving her with a son (Herbert G.) and a daughter (Marie?). Zava remarried to Bert Kail and lived out her life in Seattle.

I am curious as to her maiden name and family history. Her family was, evidently, a mining family because they started out in western Missouri (Hume?) and moved to western Colorado. I associate the given name Zava with a Slavic origin, maybe Montenegrin, maybe not.

There may be a Herbert Gregg Carpenter, Jr or II alive today. Marie became Marie Mihalisin and moved to California, I believe.
