Bernard "Barney" Kain
Bernard Kain, the son of Earnest and Anna Pearl Quick Kain was born in Marion County, Iowa near Percy on may 1, 1936 and entered into rest at the Des Moines General Hospital on October 29, 1984 at the age of 48 years. On June 5, 1954 he was united in marriage to Nona Emerson at Prairie City. They made their home in te Prairie City area until 2 years ago when they came to Monroe. Mr. Kain was emloyed by Jasper County in the Secondary Roads Department. He is survivied by his wife Nona, a son Samuel Earnest Kain of Urbandale, Iowa, 4 daughters; Mrs. Doyle (Kathy Ann) Renaud, Prairie City, Mrs. Frank (Kristy Lynn) Clark, Prairie City, Kandy Sue Kain of Des Moines and Kimberly Kay Kain at home. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, three brothers Clyde and Cloman of Runnells and John of Bremerton, Washington, three sisters; Mrs. Rolland (Pauline) Herwehe, Prairie City, Mrs. William (Darlene) King, Hermitage Tennessee, and Mrs. marvin (Marlene) McReynolds of Prairie City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Colene Murphy. Mr. Kain was a member of the Morgan Valley Christian Church the Prairie Ciey Odd Fellows and the Preston Masonic Lodge of Prairie City.
