Does to me. My grandfather was Harry Kainen, brother of Joseph. There was a third brother whose name I can't recall. They all came over from Russia. Can you remember the name of the third brother? I seem to remember that your Dad, Abe, had a candy store in the Bronx. And someone (maybe the third brother) had a garage. My Dad was Seymour Kainen.

I am looking for a family from a family story. Two daughters named Elizabeth and Susannah. And a son named Thomas that may have died young. The mother of these kids may have died when they where young. They would be livig in the Orange Co, NC area. Most likely in whats now the Durham County area. The kids would be born 1735-1750.

Found Charles KANE living in the home of James and Martha KAINE in East Norwegian Township, Schuylkill County in the 1850 census.

James KAINE, born about 1824 in PA, stone mason
Martha, born about 1826, in PA
George, born about 1846 in PA
Charles, born 1848 in PA

According to the missing James in the 1860 census, James is presumed dead between 1850 and 1860.

According to Charles' enlistment papers, where Charles HILBERT is his guardian, dated 27 Jan 1865. The last census Martha was in, the 1860, was dated 25 June 1860.

that gives me a window for death of 25 June 1860 and 27 Jan 1865. Not quite five years. Yahoo!

George and Charles served in the Civil War. Records have been requested.

In 1876, they both enlisted in the Co H. of the Mt. Carmel Rifles PA National Guard unit. Unit Disbanded in June 1876.

George stayed in Mount Carmel. No death date or burial location as of yet.

Charles was in Packer Twp, Carbon County by 1880. Stayed in Carbon County, settling in Mauch Chunk (known as Jim Thorpe today).

They had one child, ANNIE, who married CHARLES SCHUMAN. JOHN P. KAINE died January 1907; his wife, CARRIE, died c1905. They are both buried in Rolla Cemetery. I do not think I have roots from Finland, but my paternal grandparents were Fannie & Joseph Kainen from the Ukraine.

They emigrated to New York in approximately 1905. I would love to find other relations. I know that Joseph had several siblings, but I'm not sure of their names.

My grandparents lived in New York City all their lives & had 3 sons: my father, Abraham Joseph Kainen, born in April of 1908, then Jacob born in 1909, who went on to become very well-known in the art world and Edward, the youngest, who died in his early forties, approximately 50 years ago.

Does any of this sound familiar.

Harry Kaine (b1894, Fine, NY) was the son of Charles Kaine and Francis Allen. Charles' parents (Charles Kaine and Jane Best) immigrated from Ireland about 1865, although I do not think they travelled together. I would love to hear from anyone with information or connection to this family. I'm really interested in my Irish roots.

Harry was my grandfather.

Found record of a marriage license being issued to this lady and my great grandfather, R.F. Gillis, on Oct 25, 1919, in Muskogee, Muskogee County, Oklahoma. License was not returned and recorded, so do no know if it took place after all. Anyone know this lady? Thank you.

i am looking for information about my grandfather James Kaine. born about 1888 ithink in Sheffield, yorkshire U.K, his mother name was Bridget her maiden name was mullen and i think the family originated from Co Mayo ireland, as did his father.
They lived in Solly ST Sheffield. there were other children edward, mary and patrick. Patrick was crushed to death whilst at work.
My gt Grandmother died june 1934.
My mother was Kathleen kaine she had brothers James and frederick. my GRANDFATHER
