You may be just the person to help clear up a mystery in our Kaiser Tree.
What I have seen in several tree's is Jacob Erlin Kaiser married to a lady named Mary Achenbough, 1798 PA- d.1820I. They have a son named John Campbell Kaiser, b. Jan 16, 1816, Shippensburg, Cumberland, PA, d. Jun 03, 1845, Bedford, PA. I have not found anything to verify it.. I'm curious who Mary is- and if she married John, which John? And where the name Cambell comes from?
You are the first person I've come across that can possibly shed some light on it! Even though I don't have any information for your family, you are for sure part of it.. There are people on my Kaiser site that come down through Jessie Kaiser. I wish I knew. There is very little I know about him. I will list what information I have and maybe you or someone can help me in my search.

He was born around 1931 to 1933?? In Illinois, I think but may not be.
His mother was pregnant with him when she married a "Kaiser" and that is how he got his last name. She was a "Bolson" by marriage and "my" Robert Kaiser" found out his real father and lived with him for a time. I don't know how long but I think in was in East Peoria, Illinois where he attended high school in the late 40's, early 50's. I was told he inlisted in the Air Force around 1950 to 1951.
His mother I believe owned a bar/tavern in the Pekin area sometime in the mid 50's. He may also of had a sister that had a child that was blind.
He may have went to California in the mid to late 50's. If any of this rings a bell, please let me know.

I found Lena (Helen) again with only her sons in 1930 at the Deer Park address and two of the sons and herself were working as varnishers at a furniture plant and the other son was a mechanic.

I also found Caroline in the 1900 census in Miamisburg Oh visiting her Aunt Mary Somers (Summers) and Uncle Joseph on Sennett St. All of this fits because their neighbors were my grandfather's sister and husband Josaeph and Maude Hipple. My grandfather was George William Dechant. I hope this helps.

There has to be someone out there with a common relative to my grandmother Caroline Kaiser Dechant. I found information in the 1900 census recorded in Norwood Oh Hamilton County. Her father was Clem and her Mother was Helen (Lena) Both of her parents were born in Germany and the children were born in either Hamilton or Cincinnati. She also had an Aunt in Miamisburg Oh==Mary Somers. Is there any information out there so that I can connect with that side of my family? Please!!

Thank you for your help. I have looked at Rosewood
Cemetery in Palmyra and some of his children are
buried there. Unfortunatley I can't find him.
The older generation of the family said all they were
ever told was that maybe he was buried in Cass County
near Eagle. Why? I don't have any connection to that
area yet but did not find him there.
Since he passed away in Cheney, NE that maybe
he may be near there. I also have notation of him
in the Nebraska Census of 1885 being in Stockton
Precinct. I am not familiar with this area of Nebraska
so don't know where to even start digging. I was told
he did in 1886.

I thought maybe theses links might be of help. If you can narrow down your search to one or two cemeteries, I might be able to go check for a grave for you.

Many of the Cass county burials are listed online and I did not find Kasper listed.

Perhaps he is in the Rosewood cemetery in one of the unmarked graves mentioned. There are other Kaiser's there.

I am descended from Kaisers but when I took a quick look I found numerous James Kaisers in both the first and second World War. You need to possibly narrow down what country and war you are asking about.
Most (US) dog tags issued after 1918 had an army serial number on them that you could identify him through with the appropriate Government Archive. There is sometimes a lot of other information on dogtags. I have assumed the dogtags are US but if not, then you could google Canadian dogtag records too.

It would be the Korean War as the T53 is the date of his last Tetanus injection (an important factor for soldiers facing possible shrapnel wounds) and that would be 1953. They started keeping track of the Tetanus injections in WWII.
You could contact various veterans associations as a person who served in the Korean War is unlikely to be in any online database due to possible privacy issues.

Peter's second son Jacob Erlin married Francis Mishler. They named their second son Jacob and he's the Jacob who married Catherine Wilson...

On my site I have lots of Kaiser history, documents, photo's and stories- including Peter's will and all the news articles about the search for his grave in the 70's.
There are also pictures of the monuments honoring him and his family.

Some additional information: My mother just told me that the "Kaiser" or "Kiser" that my grandfather's sister, Nellie Hennessey, married, was a milk deliveryman. They probably lived in or around New York City. Her mother's maiden name was Barry.

I think the key to whether or not this is the Nellie Kaiser that was my grandfather's sister, is whether or not her maiden name was Hennessey. Do you know if that is the case? It was my understanding that she married a Kaiser - but that's all I know, and that information comes from my 82 year old mother - my grandfather's daughter. It would be really nice to find out if my mother had cousins... none of whom she knew.

I'm related thru Peter Erlin Kaiser and Pheobe Bennett. Their son Jesse Bennett Kaiser born either 1839 or 1841 (these two dates come from marriage papers and 1871 Canadian Census. Jesse was names after Pheobe father Jesse. He married Mary Jane Taggart born either 1839 or 1843 (sources the same as Jesse's) were married on Jan 13,1859 in Toronto, York, Canada.

Mary Jane Taggart is the sister of my Great Grandfather James Taggart. Their parents were William Taggart b 1813 Ireland died 1890 Wellington, Ontario & Mary Reid b 1819 Ireland died 1897 in Gulph, Ontario.

I see that you have a Burkholder listed in your surnames. I have Frances Burkholder b 1860 she wed Thomas Reid Taggart (he is the youngest brother of Mary Jane who married Jesse Kaiser). They were married June 15 1881, York, Canada.

If you have any additional information on there of these two family I would be grateful.

I'am related thru Peter Erlin Kaiser & Pheobe Bennett their son Jesse Kaiser born (I have two dates one from the marriage papers of 1839 and another from 1871 Candian Census of 1841) married Mary Jane Taggart born (and here I have two different dates of 1839 and 1843) they were married 13 Jan 1859 in Toronto York Canada. Mary Jane Taggart was my Great Grandfather's sister. Her father was William Taggart of Ireland and Mary Reid also of Ireland.

I see that you listed Burkholder as a surname. I have a Burkholder in my family tree. Frances Brukholder married Thomas Reid Taggart (he is the brother of Mary Jane that married Jesse Kaiser. They were married 15 June 1881 in York,Ontario. Her birth year would be abt 1860 and his abt 1862.

I was so surprised to see you have almost the exact same info as what is on my chart handed down to me. The birth dates are a little off but it has to be the exact same family.

I am descended through the 2nd son Jacob who m. Catharine Wilson. Then through their daughter Annie Kaiser who m. Abraham Miller. Then through their daughter Isabella Miller who m. Frank Gregory. Then through their son Robert Gregory who is my dad.

I have also been told that their is a plaque about Peter E. Kaiser somewhere around York University but I have never seen it.

I am desperatley looking for my ggrandfather
Kasper Kaiser born about 1831 and passing
away in 1886 at Cheney, NE. I have not been
able to find a obituary or a cemetery listing
for him. The only information that I have is
that in the Ne Census of 1885 he is listed in
Stockton Precinct of Lancaster Co, NE.
However found them also listed in living in
the Palmyra, Otoe area in 1880 and 1890.
Distant cousins said they thought maybe
he was buried near Eagle, NE. Any

I am hoping someone out there can help me with my search. I am looking for any information on a Robert Kaiser. I have very little information on him, but will give you what I have.

Thanks so much for your reply. I carefully went through your information this morning and can't find anything that totally fits these dog tags. There is the notch at the left that fits the embossing machine info, the first line is Kaiser, James D. The second line, I thought might have been a social security number (one too many numbers), I now believe is his serial number. There are the letter T followed by 53 (T53) on the third line followed by the letter O, which I understand is his blood type.

I suppose, as I dont really know, that these came from the Korean War. I had a couple of uncles that served during that time but they might have come from other family too.

Dog tags for James D. Kaiser

While going through some of grandparents things, I found dog tags with the name James D. Kaiser. I dont know that there is anybody in my family named Kaiser so I"m wondering to whom these tags belong. I would like to locate this family and compare stories and return these tags to him or his family.
Any help would be appreciated here.
