I am not researching this family, however I do have Court Records for Elizabeth Kammeyer as part of my Deed. Records are dated 1871. I'd be glad to scan these for anyone interested in a copy. Just let me know. Clutzycruz@aol.com.

Sincerely, Doxie Cruz

Conrad KAMMIRE, 24, WM soldier, 1870 Columbia SC Census, born in Germany

I would like to know if anyone knows anything about Conrad KAMMIRE (possibly KAUSMIRE/KASSMIRE), from Germany, who is shown as a soldier in a military Garrison in Columbia, SC in the 1870 census. He is a citizen of the US but was born in Germany. I am trying to find Conrad KASAMEYER, who was in the US at this time but does not appear in the census. Conrad KASAMEYER was married in 1873 in Indiana, and I know of most of his descendants.

Can anyone prove that the Conrad in the census is NOT the Conrad I seek? That would be very helpful! Thanks.
