I'm sure there must be a connection. There are too many similarities for there not to be one. Hopefully we can work together to solve this puzzle.
My gggrandparents (Christina Thoma and Henry Willman) had 4 children - Alma, Elizabeth (Lillie), John and Rosetta. Alma is my ggrandmother. Aunt Rosetta has provided me with a lot of clues. I have many of her old things - datebooks, address book, photo albums, etc. In her address book (circa 1960-65), she lists an Edwina Kanis at 8015 Kanis Road in Little Rock. This listing has lines through it and the date 9/4/62 next to it (Rosetta's style leads me to think that perhaps Edwina died on that date). The other listing is for Emma Kanis at 1301 Tyler Street, Little Rock. Rosetta had some other Little Rock residents in her address book as well. They are as follows (I've typed them just as they appear in the book):
Henry Dr. & Mrs. Chas. (Marguerite) Reid
#4 Armistead Road Little Rock
Keller, Carl and Eleanor
(Carl Ferdinand, Jr. and David)
#8 Edgehill Road Little Rock
Keller, Mrs. Minnie
4200 W. 12th Street Little Rock
(This listing also has lines through it with the date 7/17/62 beside it).
John F. Mueller
621 South Oak St. Little Rock
Seidel, Alma and Bill
503 Sherman Ave. Little Rock
Some other Thoma names that appear in Rosetta's things are:
Thoma, Vida & Howard "Aunt Katie 93 yrs. old" - Pgh.
Thoma, Carl & Marie & Carol - Pgh.
Walter C. Thoma - Ligonier, PA
(Carl and Marie, Walter Thoma and a Margaret Thoma Wilson attended Alma's funeral in 1961).
I know that on at least one occasion Rosetta visited Little Rock. I have her photo album from the trip.
I hope this all helps us make some connections. I'm looking forward to hearing from you again.
