A very warm "Good morning" to you!! I am so excited to hear you may have a connection and information. Just the other day I asked my mom again, and she knows no more than Grandma Bertha died when Grandpa was about 3 yrs old.
I have very little information on my Great Grandma Bertha and the Kasten family, and no pictures other than my Grandpa himself. It does sound like you know more about my Great Grandma Bertha than I do.
What I do have in my tree is her father is William Kanis, born 1854 & his father is Johann (John) Kanis, born 30 Aug 1822 in Germany, died 25 Feb 1895 in Wisconsin. Johann's wife was Auguste Zhude, born 1 Aug 1822 in Germany & died 5 Jan 1893 in Wis. I see their children are John (Johann) Gottleib Kanis, (your Great Grandfather), a sister Mathilda born in 1861 in Germany & William Kanis, born oct 1851 or 1854 in Germany & married Wilhelmine. Other children for William & Wilhelmine that I show are Rosa & Benhart John Kanis, or possibly a Benjamin or Bennie. This is all based on the info on is accurate. I try to be very particular but some times it's something to consider rather than fact or nothing at all. I don't have any info on Charles. So, what ya think?? It sounds to me like we have just made a connection. I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE & TREASURE anything & everything you can send, including a photo of the family bible and any of the relatives. Think of nothing as unimportant, as it will be all we have. So apparently, my Grandpa was really only about 18 months old when she died. And to think she has been in Kenosha all this time - my mom didn't know that and she grew up in Kenosha. My email is JLMT417@YAHOO.COM - not sure if it shows up on your info, but please feel free to use it at any time. I would so love to stay in touch!
