HI JEAN
THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING. IT'S POSSIBLE THAT SOPHIA WAS YOUR MARY'S SISTER (THAT WOULD MAKE US DISTANT RELATIVES, I GUESS COUSINS.
THE SPELLING I GOT FROM THE INTERNET WAS "KANNEGIESSER" AND IT WAS FROM AN ISSUE OF A LOCAL NEWSPAPER ON WEDDINGS. IT WAS PUT ONTO THE USGEN WEBSITE FOR LUZERNE COUNTY. YOU HAVE THEIR LAST NAME AS "KANGIESER", WHICH IS VERY CLOSE. WERE THE PARENTS FROM GERMANY OR FROM PENNSYLVANNIA. ONE DAY IM GOING TO THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES IN NEW YORK CITY (WHERE I LIVE) AND LOOK UP CENSUS RECORDS AND IMMIGRATION MANIFESTS. I THINK, HOWEVER, THEY PROBABLY CAME THROUGH PHILADELPHIA.. THEY HAVE AN ARCHIVES THERE BUT FOR ME MORE DIFFICULT TO GET TO.
IM GOING TO LET ME AUNT KNOW ABOUT SOPHIA'S SISTER MARY ANN. IF HER BIRTHDATE WAS APRIL 11, 1860, MAYBE I CAN SEND AWAY FOR HER BIRTH CERTIFICATE AT THE COURT HOUSE IN WILKES BARRE. IM THINKING MAYBER THEIR GRAVESTONES ARE AT THAT LUTHERN CHURCH, MOST OF MY DECENDENTS ARE AT CALVARY OR ST ANNS, BUT WE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE THEIR'S WERE. THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION, AND IF YOU FIND ANYTHING ELSE (LIKE WHERE THEY WERE FROM IN GERMANY, OR OTHER SISTERS/BROTHERS, THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC.
JASON BAHRT
PS, ILL KEEP YOUR EMAIL ADDRES SO THAT I CAN WRITE YOU DIRECTLY NEXT TIME
