Since the English usually spelled names as they sounded, I wondered if the name Knofts may have been pronounced Kanoff. So, I am posting this information here in case it may tie in.

Catherine C. Knofts married Earnest Mann on March 1, 1797 in Sussex County, NJ. They both died in Washington, Macomb County, Michigan

Dernetha or Dornetha Knofts married David Cutcholer? on November 6, 1796 in Sussex County, NJ. We do not know what happened to them.

Mary Knofts married Abram Fangoner on October 25, 1796. The both died in Harmony, Warren County, NJ.

I supposed these three were sisters or cousins. Where did they come from. Who were their parents.
Janice
