CRYSTAL LAKE - Genelle N. Kantner of Crystal Lake, formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Fountains at Crystal Lake.
She was born in Newton, the daughter of Charles and Estella Boldrey Fritschle. She married Ralph Kantner in 1938; he died in 1992.
Mrs. Kantner retired in 1973 from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
She was a member of Land of Lincoln American Business Women Association, where she served was president and was Woman of the Year, and Retired State Employees Association. She was a volunteer at the Theatre Centre.
Survivors: daughter, Janice Griffin of Lake in the Hills; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Charles Morris officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery.
