Antti Jaakko Kantola aka. Jacob Anders Kandoll
Born 24 Aug 183, Simo, Oulun Loani, Finland. Emigrated 1868. Spent five years in Michigan before moving to Oregon/Washington.

"The name of Kandoll was not used until Jacob became a citizen of the United States according to Mabel. The judge wrote down Kandoll instead of Kantola probably because he could not understand the Finnish pronunciation. Jacob was to afraid to ask him to change the spelling."

"Questions have arisen as to the whereabouts of the brother who emigrated with him and if we could locate him because of the different spellings of the name. We do not know the brother's name."
