New information from the Czech Republic records.

Please note the different spellings of surnames.

Joseph Kapaun - married to Barbara Pfeifer. The marriage was listed 1 February 1848 in Michelsdorf, Catholic Parish church. It was recorded in Michelsdorf, house No. 175. The groom was cottager (“Hausler”) of Michelsdorf, son of Georg Kapaun, retired cottager (Hauslausgedinger”) of Michelsdorf No. 175 and his wife Rosalia nee Wabra of Michelsdorf No. 152. He was a Catholic, aged 32 (he would be born around 1816), single. The bride was Catholic, aged 22 (she would be born around 1826), single. She was daughter of Anton Pfeifer, retired farmer (“Bauerausgedinger”) of Michelsdorf Nr. 224 and his wife Barbara nee Schmied of Michelsdorf No. 157.

Between 1848-1850 (secord marriage) no children were born to these parents. Barbara had not even an illegitimate child born from 1847. (It could be a reason for the marriage). Barbara had to die before July 1850 when Joseph remarried.

Joseph Kapaun married Rosalia Springer 30 July 1850 in the Michelsdorf Catholic parish church. The marriage was recorded in Michelsdorf, house No. 175. Joseph was soldier (“Gemainer”) of the 2nd Landwehr Batallion and cottager (Hausler”) in Michelsdorf No. 175, son of George Kapaun, retired cottager (Hauslausgedinger”) in Michelsdorf No. 175 and his wife Rosalia nee Wabra, daughter of a cottager (“Hausler”) of Michelsdorf No. 152. He was Catholic, aged 34 (he would be born around 1816), widower. Rosalia was daughter of Joseph Springer, cottager (“Hausler”0 in Michelsdorf No. 272 and his wife Elisabeth, daughter of Wenzl Janisch, retired farmer (“Bauerausgedinger”) of Michelsdorf No. 259. She was Catholic, aged 26 (she would be born around 1824, single.

Joseph and Rosalia had these children:

Joseph Kapaun, born 27 May 1851 in Michelsdorf No. 175. There was a note “Amerika” at the record. It means he emigrated.

Julius Kapaun, born 2 December 1862 in Michelsdorf No. 175

Till 1868 no more children were born to these parents. It is interesting that no child was born between 1856-1862. Ottilie died probably before the family ldft for the USA.

Later I looked for ancestor of Joseph Kapaun and Rosalia Springer.

Joseph Kapaun (spelled “Kopaun”) was born 24 July 1816 in Michelsdorf No. 186. His father was Georg “Kopaun”, cottager (“Häußler”) and his mother was Rosalia Wabra, daughter of Anton Wabra, cottager (“Haubler”) in Michelsdorf No. 152.
Note: He was last child of his parents. Between 1817-1825 any siblings of Joseph were not born. (Note: The names Kapaun/Kopaun would be Czech Kapoun originally, the name Wabra could be Czech Vávra originally.)

Between 1808 (the marriage of parents) - 1816 these siblings were born:

The father Georg “Kopaun” married the mother Rosalia Wabra 15 November 1808 in Michelsdorf. The wedding was recorded in the house No. 186 in Michelsdorf where the groom was from. The groom was son of Anton “Kopaun”, cottager (Haubler”), he was Catholic, aged 26, single.
(Note: His birth record would be found around 1782 in the Dolni Cermna parish where Michelsdorf was included before 1785.) The bride was daughter of Anton Wabra, cottager (“haubler”) in Michelsdorf No. 152. She was Catholic, aged 24, single.
