Frank Benjamin Kappel, son of Jacob and Sarah Brown Kappel, was born on the Brown homestead near Glasco, Kansas, January 9, 1884. He departed this life following an illness of a few weeks duration at the home east of Glasco on Sunday, May 26, 1946, at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 17 days.
He was married to Mary Bartow at the Methodist parsonage in Concordia, Kansas, on August 24, 1911. His widow survives him. To this union were born three children, all of whom are living. They are Elsie Mae Kappel, George W. Kappel, and Frances M. Kappel, all of Kansas City, Mo.
He is also survived by three brothers and one sister, Clarence and George Kappel of Glasco, Kansas, William Kappel of Kansas City, Mo.; and Mrs. Elsie Huckbery of Wichita, Kansas, and one granddaughter, Georgeann Kappel, daughter of George Kappel.
Frank Kappel was a life long resident of the Glasco community and was held in high esteem by all who knew him, a kind and loving husband and father, and a good neighbor.
Funeral services were held at the family home east of Glasco on Tuesday, May 28, 1946, at 3:00 p.m., conducted by the Rev. O.K. Oelke. Interment was in the Glasco cemetery. Stine-Griffith funeral home was in charge.
Pallbearers were Frank Collwell, Roy Lavy, Cool Blake, John Bullock, Eli Pinney, and Archie Capron.
