Am looking for descendants of, and information on, Peter KAPPES, Hessian Soldier who participated in the American Revolution. Peter was POW from 1780-1783 who eventually indentured himself for 3 years in 1782 in order to get out of prison. He probably remained in the US after his indenture period. Believe he was a cousin of my 3rd GGF, Charles WEISSENSTEIN, also a Hessian soldier who served in Canada during the revolution. Charles was from Bischofsheim, Hessen-Hanau, not far from Seckbach.
