Hello! I've read before that the name Kapusta means cabbage. I kid my wife about the all the time. My Wife's Great Grandmother was Margaret Kapusta and we think she was born in 1897 in Czechoslovokia. Margaret married Jacob Dudra, whom we know was from Czech.
It's possible that at some point they may have lived in Austria, as their son, Jacob Dudra Jr., was born June 7, 1895 in Austria, but eventually wound up here in Pittsburgh, Pa.

What's funny is that, before I knew the meaning of the name Kapusta....my wife used to tell me that her younger brother, as a little boy, was always called "cabbage head".

What a coincidence.
