Hi, I am researching Daniel KARABINIS b. abt 1865 in Greece was married to Helen and had son George Daniel KARABINIS who was b. Aug. 17, 1914 in Modesto, Stanislaus County, CA. George married Callopie (Dolly) P. ANDREWS, daughter of Peter B. ANDREWS bron abt 1886 in Greece and was married to Georgia P. The ANDREWS' lived in Sacramento, CA. Thank you. Cathy

My name is Andreas karabinis from kalamata-greece
I am very happy to hear from you and to have some informations abour our family.
The origin of Karabinis branch of Mani is a beautiful little village of mesiniaki mani called Mantinies 5 kms from Kalamata.Our grand father and mother were Dimitris and Anezo(Anna) Karabinis (1895-1966).They had 6 boys and 1 girl.My father is Panayiotis (1920-1968).
Iam very interesting about your informations about the origine from Crete.Please answer me if you have some old papers about these years.

A possible origin of karabinis family is the region of Magni in south peloponese near of kalamata.
My name is andreas karabinis,47 years old,MD and our origin is a very beautiful village of magni : mantinies.
The possible first origine of the familyis the region of Souli in the north of greece .They change of region during the revolution in 1821 after the battle of souli.

I am looking for an ancester named Beverly Jane Karabinus *it could have different spellings* She was born in 1921 in Los Angeles Ca , she was married to James Lee Osko in 1938*or 1939* and she died Nov 15 1996 In dimond springs, placer, california. they had one child that i know of named Gary Lee Osko. James lee and Gary lee Osko are both still living. Beverly was Adopted and so I am having a hard time finding her and her parents. Her adoptive (or at least the people that are believed to be her parents) are George Dayton Humphrys from Louisiana and Margarite Schaffer, from chicago IL. Any Informaiton would be great! thanks!

My name is Dimitrios Karabinis and I live in Florida. My fathers name is George and my grandfathers name was Dimitrios. My grandfather came from the island of Skiro and resided in the town of
Kymi located on the coast of Evia. As far as I know my greatgrand father was a seaman and also came from the island of Skiro, his name was Stamatis. That's all the the info I have...if anyone can add to this please e mail me.

I have 2 brothers named Dimitris and Alex
My full name is Vivian Sofia Tweeters Karabinis
My grandfathers name was dimitris and he was from the island of Crete in Greece.

My name is Vasso Karabinis Gizikis and I live in Texas.
My father was from Crete. The Karabinis name was originated there in the town
of Anoyia when my great great great granfathers whose name was Kantanoleon
was given a Karabina gun as a gift and from then on he became the captain with
the Karabina ,captain karabinias, captain Karabinis.
One of the Karabinis brothers left Anoyia in the early 1800;s and went to fight
in Souli later. Later some brother went to Mani and some to Kalamata and Korinthos.
More bibliography in the battle of Crete. I have paintings and pictures of my
anchestors back to the middle seventeen hundreds.The name Karabinis is first
registered in a birth certificate in Heraklion Crete in the late 1700.\
Comon first names Dimitrios, George, Dionysios, Penelope.

Karabinis in Florida and Missouri

There are a few of us in St. Louis, Missouri, but originating in Florida. My papou Nicholas Karabinis was born in Milwaukee, but moved back to Greece with his parents as a young child. He married my yaya Elpa Koukoulis after WWII and moved to Florida in 1946. Any possible relations/connections?
