My mother still lives in the house in Jermyn that Andrew built in 1906. I asked her about Theresa and she said she remembers Karasinski's visiting in Jermyn. She also said she has some photos. I dont' recalls seeing them but she'll dig them out. Andrew was a wonderful gardener. Most of the back yard was flowers and vegetables. He worked as a gardener for the Supt. of the Dupont Powder Works.
Pete was my mother's brother. He lost both legs in an accident when he worked for NY Central RR. I didn't remember abt. Metro but I'll ask my mother and my aunt Betty.
I had info on Children but didn't know which went with which mother. My notes say that Eva died when Andrew was 10-12. He was angry at his mother's death and wasn't going to be nice to his stepmother but another sibling convinced him otherwise. Amastas was supposedly very kind to him. That must have been because he named one of his daughters Anastasia (nancy).
Andrew was born May 17, 1864. When he was walking on the tracks near Jermyn someone called to him and told him there were people like him in the next town (Mayfield) He lived there for a while. There were relatives there, Presko or Prochko. Supposedly, related thru his mother Eva.
Records say he came to US in 1886. Harry killed in WWI US or Austria? Sam worked in Conn. Three sons: John, Basil and Metro. Do you know anything abt Simeon and Michael? Records also say John was a spy in Germany in WWII using his native Russian language. Born 1907 died abt 1971. In 1974 his mother lived in Conn. Basil went to Europe but came back to US. lived in Ohio. Metro lived in Ohio: children George and Mary Mikridge Felice.
Do you have info on Theresa coming to US? How did she end up in CT? Do you know anything abt. Anna?
Finally, where do you live? I live in Vestal NY, abt. 60 miles from Jermyn. I;m there VERY often.
