Hello, In regards to the Kerol family and Verheek. I am looking for more information on Nellie Verheek, we dont know her maiden name. She was married to a John George Verheek, they lived in Grand Rapids. Nellie was "Nellie Pearl" or she went by Pearl, it may have not been a given middle name, but her first name was Nellie.

I cannot find ANY census data having a Nellie Kerol. I have scoured the databases trying to verify the years and it just doesnt match up. The only Nellies listed were born earlier or later. Nellie ( ) Verheek was born Feb 15, 1897.

If you can shed some light on this info it would be greatly appreciated.
Darlene,
I am not sure about any survivors. There was a book called "Lidice - The story of czech village" where should be a list with all name who did not survive Lidice tragedy during WWII (including pictures).
I have tried to locate this book at library, but is not available. Will try another source.
I know that it is not very possitive information, but all men who were in Lidice at that time were killed. So if there were any ancestors still living in Lidice, I am not sure .....
Please mail me at my private email - radka.prgha@seznam.cz
Will try to locate the book and see if there is any information. I would need to know more details if there are some....
Please advise,
Radka

Hi Tracy,
I believe the Mary Flamm you are talking about was born Sept. 8, 1833 at Belgersdorf, Hungary, a daughter of Johann (John) and Mary (Bongardner) Flamm. She died Jan. 6, 1919 and was buried at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Rosen, Lac qui Parle County, MN. Mary married Nicholas Karels, b. Jan. 2, 1831 at Wahl, Luxembourg and d. July 14, 1898, buried at St. Joseph's Cem., also. They were married Jan. 7, 1858 at Shakopee, Scott Co., MN. They had 9 children.

Mary had a sister, Anna, b. Jan. 1, 1840 at Belgersdorf, Hungary, and d. Jan. 9, 1923, buried at St. Joseph's Cem., Rosen, also. Anna m. Johann (John L.) Karels, a brother to her sister's husband, in 1857 at Shakopee, Scott Co., MN. John L. was b. Feb. 1, 1833, at Wahl, Luxembourg. He d. Mar. 20, 1905 and was buried at Waconia, Carver Co., MN. Anna and John L. had 14 children, the oldest of whom, was my great-grandfather.

There was another Flamm who settled in Yellowbank Township, Lac qui Parle County, near Rosen. John Flamm was b. Oct. 28, 1848 in Hungary, and I suspect he probably was a brother to the above two women, but I have no definite proof, as yet. John Flamm d. May 24, 1890 and was buried at Yellowbank Township's E.U.B. Cemetery, just outside of Odessa, MN. He m. Mary Brand on Nov. 15, 1879. Mary was b. about 1862 at Faribault, MN. I don't have her death date recorded. This couple had 5 children.

If any of this connects, please contact me.

Karel family of NYC, & MI looking for information..Fred, William, Nettie, Anna., Ruderic.

Looking for information on the following people:
Fred Karel, born Feb 1882, son of "Antonia" (Antoinette) maiden name Pekarek. He is listed on the 1900 census. His mother Antonia Pekarek came to this country on 16 Jan 1872 on the ship Donau at the age of 17.
She is listed on the ship's passenger listing as a 'farmer".
Antonia's nickname was "Nettie" and she was widowed by 1890. Her husband was William Karel (known as Waclar or Waclen Karela-Karel) from Nadrib, Bohemia.
Antonia had 5 children:
I only have listed 4 children:
1.Anna or Annie, my gg mother, born in 1875, married Jacob Dippel in NYC . Anna (Karel) Dippel died in 1952 buried at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, Queens, NY.

2. Ruderic Karel.. b.? have nothing on him. He is listed in the 1880 census. I can't find a birth certificate on this guy.
Died?

3. William Karel, son of William Karel and Antonia Karel. In 1930 is at 71-11 Woodside Avenue in Queens Borough.
His mother Antonia, mother of Fred, Anna, Nettie (age 20 in 1880 census born Apr 1880), was born Sep 8, 1854 in Bohemia and died at her son's home at 71-11 Woodside Avenue in Queens. Antonia is buried at Eveergreen Cemetery.
Antonia's father is Anton Pekarek.

4. Nettie Karel, born in 1880 don't know a thing about her.

5. Fred Karel is listed on the 1910 census, age 28 with wife Louisa age 21 and only married one year as of April 19, 1910 when the census was taken. Antonio (Antonia) his mother was age 54 then and living with the couple at 1637-24 Avenue A in Manhattan at the time. Fred is listed as a Railroad Engineer in the 1910 Census for NYC.
I'm taking a guess that Fred and Louisa had a son named Fred born on 20 Sep 1909 in NYC, died perhaps on 28 mar 1991 in Allendale, Michigan.
Anyone out there related to any of these folks?
thanks karen
Hello, thank you for responding to my message. I had recently found where Anna and John Karels were buried. And was just looking into it, to make sure they were the right couple I was looking for. I knew that Anna was married to the brother of Nicholas Karels. So was really surprised by your message with all the info.
The John Flamm that you were talking about was the brother to Mary and Anna. I had come across the year that he was born as 1848 also. But he actually was born Oct.28,1843 and died May 24,1890. In the Lac qui Parle Co. death records stated he was 47 years at the time of his death. The marriage I have for John was to Mary Brand Nov.5,1879 in Big Stone City,S.D.
What I have for Johannes (John) Flamm born Aug.28/29,1812 and the death date for Mary and Anna's mother as March 2,1853 in Hungary.
My gg grandmother was Rosella Flamm, by John's 2nd marriage. If you'd like to contact me, my email is tgoonan1@juno.com
