my grandmother was cornelis karelsborn 1890 her father was marenus cornelia had 3 sisters elizabeth catherine sarah all arrived in ellis is. approx. 1908 or 1910 cornelia married an isaac demeyers maybe from biervliet holland cant find anything on isaac in holland only when he came americia. Hello Marion,
Ik denk dat wij familie zijn. My groot vader, Victor Karels had een broer Louis and ik weet dat de naam Mia Karels ook in onze familie. My groot vader leevde ook in Maastricht. Hij had een zoon, mij vader, Leopold, en wij woonde in Noordwijk Aan/Zee toen wij in Holland woonde. Ik weet, my groot vader had ongeveer 4 of 5 broers en een zuster,ik denk dat was die Mia.
Laat mij eens van je horen, als ik altijd meer wilde weeten van de Karels familie. Meschien zijn wij familie? Bedankt, Vic

Ik ben Victor Karels, vroeger woonde in Noordwijk Aan/Zee. My grootvader, Victor Karels woonde in Maastricht en zijn broers of zusters woonde in Amersterdam of Rotterdam. Wat zijn jullie groot ouders namen? Ik woont in Colorado, USA.

I am Vic and was born in Noordwijk, Holland. My grandfather, Victor Karels lived in Maastricht, but his siblings lived in Amesterdam and/or Rotterdam, never met any while we lived there. Let me hear from you, and tell me who your parents or grandparents were, who knows?

Hi Sarah, I have the family tree updated, but it's not online, I am locked out of every updating that tree.

Your grandfather knows my family, he contacted me 10 yrs ago and then wouldn't answer my emails - maybe you can ask him why! with the work Ray has done on the tree, you don't need to do anything!!

My mom comes up to the Karels reunions when they had them, her Godmother, Adalaide is turning 90-something so she is thinking of coming up for her b-day. If you know everyone in Rosen, then you must know the Amundson's? Harry and his dauther's Chris or Laura? Carla Amundson? Phyllis Stade? My mom's mom was a Karels, mom came out there for a summer as a teen so she knows everyone. Lots of Karels contact me due to the webpage. Anyway, my mom was closest to Lorraine and Francis Hoffman (both Karels girls) in Bellingham, I was out there as a kid and early teen. one of these days I need to get up there while Mom can introduce me, but she is hard to get along with, haha.

My name is Sarah Karels and found your message on here. I know its a little late past your initial post but I thought I would give you a little information.

I am from Ortonville but my dad's side is all from the Rosen area. John L. (Nicholas's brother) would have been my great-great-great grandfather. His son, Simon, married a Marie (Mary) Schnase in 1881. They had twelve kids and their son Frank J. is the next in my line. He married Clara Stoick and they had six children.

Their son, Raymond, is my grandfather. He married Mildred Spors (which is a really big family as well!) and they had twelve children. There son Frank was my dad. He passed away in 1997 from a car accident.

I recently just started with my ancestry within the past 6 months or so. It seems never ending though! I have so many places where the branches could just go on and on! I'm pretty sure I'm related to almost everyone in the Rosen area!

Perhaps we are related. My grandfather Victor Karels I believe had a sister called Mia and some brothers called Edmund, Alfred, and there were 2 or 3 more brothers. My famiy moved from Holland to the USA in 1958. My grandfather lived in Maastricht. Please send me an e:mail back.

I read your bio below. Some of the names you mention sound familiar. My family emigrated to the USA in 1958 from Holland. My grandfather lived in Maastricht, his name was also Victor Karels, my dad's name was Leopold Karels. All I know is that many of my grandfather's family lived in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Don't know a whole lot, but please e:mail me, perhaps both of us can discover something new. I stil speak and write Dutch.

Nicholas had brother's; Simon and John L., all lived in Rosen, MN and surrounding areas. My line lived mainly in Ortonville, MN.

I have no information on Simon or John Karels family, but would love to connect with their descendants to get family history.

Much has happened since we talked, Regretfully Anita Somer Fleming died Jan 21,00 in Monroe Wisc. Alfred Fleming who was very dependent on her for care went into a nursing home but passed away of a stroke May 3, 00 (he was born Dec 26, 1913. he was buried near his old home in Glen Ellyn. I have pictures of your Grandmother Rose and pictures of almost all of the Flemings, Peter(bro of Mary), Augusta Keiseler his wife and William, Harold (Dad), Lillian and Alfred. I dont have Henry who died on Eastland in 1915.

Ik lees net jouw berichtje, ik mail namelijk via mijn werk en ik ben een paar dagen ziek geweest. Wat leuk dat we zo een beetje contact met elkaar kunnen onderhouden. Ik begrijp, ook via jouw broer Alfred dat jullie niet zoveel weten van de familie, ik weet wel het een en ander. Toen oma en oom Frans nog leefden kwamen zij iedere week bij mijn ouders eten, dus ik had heel veel contact met hen. Oma vertelde graag over haar leven en ik was wel degene die luisterde, ik hou wel van die familie verhalen. Dus als je iets te vragen hebt, mail me, misschien kan ik je helpen, of ik kan het aan mijn moeder ( Yvonne) vragen. Mijn moeder wordt eind van deze maan 80 jaar en is nog prima gezond. Mijn vader gelukkig ook. Mijn moeder kan zich nog een nichtje - ook een Yvonne- herinneren. Is dat misschien een zusje van jou? Hoe heet jouw moeder? Was dat Riek?
Ik ben maandag 8 maart weer op mijn werk, dan pas kan ik mail lezen.
Veel sterkte met je gezondheid, ik hoor van je...

I am friends with the Karels family of Waverly,MN in Wright County. They are businessmen in Waverly,MN. Roger Karels owns Rogers Towing. Mark owns a gasoline Station and is in the processs of building a brand new service station.
Their dad owns a business called Knight Colors. Knight Colors is owned by George P. Karels The family is
a large family.

My name is Yvonne Karels. I am new to the Internet and would be grateful if anybody has any information about my family name, Karels.

I was born on 1st September 1942 in Den Bosch, The Netherlands.
My father, Edmund Karels, was born 23/9/1916 in Oudvroenhoven, Maastrict. He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters (Alfred, Arthur, Mia Pia and Yvonne).

My mother, Hendarika van Randwijk, was born 26/6/1918 in Amsterdam.

All I know about my grandparents (on my father's side) is that my grandfather, L. Karels, was possibly born in Belgium. My grandmother's name was Mary van der Venne.

On my mother's side my grandmother was Alida van der Steen. My grandfather was Geraldis van Randwijk.
