Information on Mark B. Karlin

Hello, I was a friend, colleague, and music student with a wonderful clarinetist by the name of Mark B. Karlin. It is my fear that he died in NJ on April 8, 1998. I cannot find an obituary or any info on his life after 1975. At that time we were both in music school in Boston, MA. He was attending New England Conservatory. I would appreciate any information on Mark that is available. Thank you, Valerie

I am looking for any information about JOHAN KARLIN. He was b. 24 June 1820 in Skara, Westergotland, Sweden and married MARIA HOGBERG. They had a son JOHAN PHILIP GOTTFRID KARLIN. I am new enough to this that now that I have gotten back to Sweden I am not sure where to look next. Thanks for any help and Happy New Year!~~Suzanne

Eugene Karlin, an illustrator for such magazines as Fortune and Esquire, has died. He was 84. He died Nov. 20 in Laguna Woods. No cause was given. Mr. Karlin was born in Kenosha, Wis. He began his career at Fortune in the 1940s. He also contributed drawings to other magazines, including New Republic, Town & Country, Seventeen, Architectural Forum, Sports Illustrated and Playboy. He also illustrated books and album covers. Mr. Karlin created artwork in tempera and oil, pastels and ceramic. His works have been shown at the San Francisco Museum, New York ' s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Laguna Art Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. Mr. Karlin taught at several art schools, including Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, Cooper Union Art School, the School of Visual Arts and the Workshop School of Advertising and Editorial Art.

Looking for relatives of Stanley and Adele Karlin of Newark. Stanley changed his name from Kalicki. Briother were John and Walter. Sisiter Sophie, Janet and possibly Helen. All are deceased now, but I am looking to reconnect with long lost cousins and share family info. Parents of all were Michael and Eleanore from Poland.

Faye L. Karlin, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, July 15, 2003. She was born in Hutchinson, KS on November 8, 1911 to Caleb Lily and Mary Jane (Kincheloe) Carrel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn C. Karlin, the love of her life; her beloved sister, Wilma Green; brothers, George and Ralph Carrel; half-brother, Boyd Haynes, half-sisters, Mabel Blue and Rena Demin; stepdaughter, Anna Hennigan; and grandson, Scott Ferguson. Mrs. Karlin is survived by her daughters, Nancy Wells of Albuquerque and Marilyn and husband, Richard Seddon of McIntosh, NM; brother-in-law, Maurice Green of Liberal, KS; stepdaughter, Glenda Thomason of Virginia; stepsons, Conrad Karlin of Virginia and Glenn Karlin of Taos; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Before moving to New Mexico, Mrs. Karlin was on the School Board in Cokedale, Colorado. She and Glenn Karlin moved to Albuquerque in 1978 on his retiring as Junior High Principal. They enjoyed traveling and were highly involved in Lions Club, her as a Lady Lion; and after his death, she enjoyed the Masonic Widows Activities. Her family was her main focus, always. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2003, at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, with her grandson, Evangelist Sean Ferguson, Presiding. Interment of cremains will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400

I am looking for information on the Karlin Family that lived in Elizabeth New Jersey. John Paul Karlin was married to Marie Karlin and had three children, one boy and two girls. He passed away from a fall sometime in the 1940's. His son John was a member of a Polish Drum an Bugle corpe called The Falcons. After the war his son married a girl from Iowa and moved there. Marie (Burns) Karlin lived in Elizabeth for many years before moving to Matamorsa PA.
