Surnames: Karmen, Karmenofsky
I am searching for any information on the family surname of Karmenofsky. I have been told that the "ofsky" part of the name means 'son of', so Karmenofsky would mean 'son of Karmen'. Does anyone know if this is correct?

The Karmenofsky trail begins for me in Memel, Prussia in the late '30s, where Christel and brother Herbert fled during the war. They settled in Germany.

Any connections/ideas? Thanks so much for your help.
