Hello Mary, daughter of Max and Feodora

Good to hear from you!

I have been researching the family of Maxim for over a year now and do not
have much information.

I have seen their marriage record from 1913 in Springfield Mass. but of course,
no birth records for either Max or his wife Feodora because I am sure that both
birth records are across the ocean.

I have a few census records from Springfield that show some of your siblings
including:

Walter
Peter
Fred

and of course I know of you and Helen as well.

The only one of the group who I do not know what happened to is Peter,

Don't worry as I am only doing this research for genealogy reasons for my own
personal notes.

Can you tell me what ever became of Peter?

PS, I had many relatives who lived in the area around Cole Street where your
family lived for a time.

Re: Karol Family History

Hi,

There are some Karols also living in Latvia. Due to the morphology of this language, the name appears in two ways there: Karols for men, Karole for woman. For example, my wife's dad's name is Valdis Karols, whereas her mum's name is Aija Karole. Yet, according to my wife, the name goes back to its original writing Karol. Furthermore, it used to be written like that until about 10 years ago, when it became legally possible to have two forms of a name in one and the same family.

Yours, Mr CR Berger, Switzerland

I have found the following land records:
Statement Showing Homestead Lands by Galician Settlers In The Neighborhood of Stuartburn, Manitoba

Source: Immm/139859, February 22, 1901: E. I am looking for
Harry Karol, wife Dokki and Harry's son Sam Karol. On the 1910 census Dokki is listed as mother, liviing with son Sam in Caribou, MN, age 79, widowed, 5 children 3 living.

I think that Harry ( or some Ukranian name that could be translated to Harry) and Sam came to Canada in the Stuartburn area before 1898 as Sam had a son George born in Canada in 1898. Sam, Harry and Dokki all list their place of birth as Austria, but I think that Austria is the country that ruled the Ukraine at the time. Dokki is buried in the Ukranian Church yard at Caribou as Doki KOROL and Sam's 1st wife is also buried there as Dumka KOROL. But Sam used the name KAROL on other documents such as naturalization, birth records of his children etc.

Do any of these names fit into your family tree. Thanks for any help.

I am interested in finding info about the Karol family history. My grandparents' last names are Karol and Hegler. Family is located in the Pittsburgh area. Looking for information pre-dating my grandparents (Early 1900s, late 1800s)

Koralewski Cemetery Marker Photo

For some the name may have been shortened to Koral/Korale. I have a photograph of a cemetery marker for Wojciech Koralewski, dates are 1857 to 1906. It lies in an old Polish Cemetery in Buffalo, NY. I take pictures of stones, especially ones that are almost eroded and in danger of losing their script. It is available for a small fee.
