My Great Grandfather's name was John Karsjens before he was adopted by the Horn's in Emden, Illinois. I believe that his father's name was William Karsjens. Family legend says that his wife died and he distributed the kids to neighboring farms to get rid of them, thus my grandfather's adoption. William lived in the Tazewell, Illinois area I think, not sure. Not a lot of Karsjens in Illinois, lots in Iowa. Perhaps they are connected; I would like to know. William's wife's name was Grace (Gertie)I think. I don't have much other information. Thanks for any provided, if there is a connection.
