William E. "Bill" KASH, PhD age 75 of Vandalia, OH passed away October 23, 2007 at Hospice of DAYTON after a lengthy illness. He was born October 5, 1932 in Jackson, KY son of the late William L. & Florence KASH. Bill was a retired teacher and principal from the DAYTON City Schools with 31 years of service and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam era. He was proud of receiving the American Spirit Honor Medal as the outstanding basic training participant out of 1300 trainees. He was a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church and the Vandalia Lions Club. Bill received his PhD in educational leadership, psychology and counseling from Miami University and was an avid UK Wildcats fan. Preceded in death by his twin sister, Mary Lee Haden, his half-brother, Stephen KASH and his half-sister, Irene Slusher, Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauline "Polly" KASH of Vandalia; 2 daughters, Vicki Lynn & husband, Michael Sievering of Brent, AL and Ruth (KASH) & husband, Jeffrey Trump of Carryville, TN; 3 grandsons, Zachary Sievering, William "Richie" & wife, Ashley Sievering and Matthew Sievering, 2 granddaugthers, Jessica & husband, Cameron Godfrey and Jennifer Trump; 6 great-grandchildren, Briana, Makenzie, Kelsey, Jeremy, Joslynn Ruth, & Hayleigh; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lillian Sparks, Vicie & Buford Alcorn, Reece & Rosemary Smyth, Margie & Harold Flannery, Anna Smyth, Janet & Ken Dixon; 2 special nephews, Arthur Ballard & wife, Janice and Steve Kash; 2 special nieces, K. Ann & James Barnes and Sarah Haden & numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am October 26 at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Lexington, KY. Friends may call at the Vandalia United Methodist Church October 25, 2007 from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vandalia United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or Hospice of DAYTON in Bill's memory. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
