my father George (Jiri) Hubatka, escaped from czechoslovakia during the 2nd world war. his father was Francis Hubatka, mother Anna ?. when my dad escaped he was 18 or around that age and he was a count. dad visited the hubatka crib in Slaney before he left. he believed that he was the only Hubatka alive in the country at the time apart from his sister. he left behind the Hubatka restaurant in station 9 as his mother and father had both died. he fled to australia and joined the fight to democratise his home land. we are the only Hubatkas in Australia that i know of and to learn that more of you exist in the world is a real buzz. dad told me that the only two from the Hubatka line was his father and uncle that didnt have any children because he died in an accident at a young age. so im thinking that i need to go further up the ladder. what i do know is that we have an unbroken line of males in our ancestry and that we had a family registry book that went back until at least the 16 century. dad believes that he remembers 14 century dates in this book. it was left with the restaurant but has since dissapeared. dad also said that we had a brick making factory. does any of this ring any bells. email me so we can communicate. love Patrick Hubatka
