My father was Everett Hugo Kathary and if my memory recalls Denver is his brother. I remember back in the 60's visiting Ohio with my parents and we stopped in Mt. Vernon to visit family. During our visit to Ohio we stayed with my Uncle Russ and Aunt Rhea.

Hello -

I was researching my father's name on the internet and found this website. My father's name was Everett Hugo Kathary one of six children, with one sister named Mildred. I never met her, but knew her as Aunt Millie. My parents left Ohio in the 50's and moved to California and I have very little knowledge of my dad's side of the family. William kathary was my grandfather. Spent many days in macksburg when I was young.

I was born in macksburg. My mother was Mildred Lewis.She had six brothers and was the only girl. Say hi to Paul Cecil.

Hello everyone. I am Laura Kathary, a daughter of Robert William Kathary, (1939-2001). His parents were Everett Hugo Kathary and Evelyn Marian Douglas of Macksburg Ohio, who had four other children: Steve, Jan, Cheri and Jackie. The family moved to California in the 1950s. According to my father, William Kathary, his gradfather and a minister in Macksburg, had a brother, Raymond Kathary. At some point, Raymond moved his family to Kansas, while William remained in Macksburg. Have done lots of research, so email me if you want to know more. Haven't met a Kathary yet that wasn't related. :-)

My name is Gina Kathary, and I am the daughter of Chuck Kathary. I was trying to find any information about my grandfather Raymond Donald Kathary. I knew he was born in Salina Kansas in 1922, but that's it. And I just found out tonight BEFORE reading what d.Kathary wrote, was that my grandfather's mother's maiden name was Bush. So after reading what d. Kathary wrote, that must mean that Raymond Dean Kathary and Pearl Bush were my grandpa's parents.THANK YOU so much for giving me somewhere to start looking up my ancestry.

I'm working on my husband's ancestry. His grandmother was a kathary--Caroline Kathary, born in Kansas. Her father, Adam Kathary, was born approximately 1850 in alsace-Lorraine. He moved to Hamilton, Kansas where he had a livery stable and restaurant. He had his children quite late (when he was 50 years old--wonder if he had an earlier marriage and earlier children?) We know little about him beyond that, but we are told that he had brothers and sister who also came to the area. He is buried in the Hamilton, Kansas cemetery. I have copied all of your e-mails and will go to the genealogical library and do some census work.
But, I'm wondering, does the above story ring any bells for any of you? Thank you for posting what you already have. This is a great resource, even if there turns out to be a lot of dead ends.

According to our records, Christian Kathary was born in Alsace-Lorrane (France). If it is the same one, the Raymond that you mentioned is Raymond Dean Kathary who married a Pearl Bush, my husband's grandparents. So I will add your information to what we have. Thank you so much!! Hi,

Christain Kathary was my great grandfather, I believe. My grandmother was Elizabeth Kathary one of seven children. She married George Kelly. The other girls in the family were named Anna, the oldest, and Dora, the youngest. There were 4 boys and their names were George, John, Raymond, and Charles. One of the boys died at sea, I believe it was Charles.

Elizabeth and George had one daughter, my mother, Irene.

Please let me know whatever you might have on the family.

Any info. on Christian Kathary from the Alsace-Lorrane area. Married a Katherine Miller from West Virginia. Their son was Raymond Dean Kathary who married Pearl Bush. They lived in the Salina, Kan. area we believe.
