I am researching a Kathmann family that lived in the Quincy Illinois area from about 1880. This is what I have:

1. CLEMENS1 KATHMANN was born 10 January 1818, and died 18 May 1887. He married MARY ANN METZGER 19 February 1852 in Adams County, Illinois.

2. OTTO CLEMENS2 KATHMANN (CLEMENS1) was born 1864. He met (1) EMMA WILHEMINE PANHORST, daughter of JOHANN MUELLER and EMILIE PANHORST. He married (2) LILLIE M.. He married (3) ROSA M. GEERS 5 October 1916.

Notes for OTTO CLEMENS KATHMANN:
Otto Kathmann was the natural father of Isabel Stickman, he and Isabel's natural mother, Emma W. Panhorst were not married.

There may be more than one Otto Kathman in the Adams county area. A Ben Kathman replied to my message board query on 30 June 00. He said:

In my familytree I have an Otto A. Kathmann, born 15-3-1864 in Quincy,
IL, USA. He was married with Lizzie Bernzen, location St. Louis, MO,
USA.
He was the son of Clemens Kathmann and Mary. The birthdate of Clemens
should be around 1827.
Otto had 7 brothers and sisters :
Bernard Kathmann, b. 20-2-1848 in Quincy, IL.
Clemens Kathmann,b. 19-9-1854 " " "
Henry Kathmann, b. 13-5-1857 " " " Henry and John
are twins.

I try to record and put in a familytree, all relatives of our German ancestor Bernard Heinrich Hubertus KATHMANN, born 21-09-1816 in Lohe, kreis Vechta, Nieder-Sachsen. He was a sailor and married Hendrika SLAMAN, born 9-10-1819 in Pijnacker. They married in Vlaardingen, 20-7-1842. Notes for EMMA WILHEMINE PANHORST:
Emma W. Panhorst's natural parents were Julie Panhorst and Johann Mueller who were not married. Emma assumed her mother's maiden name Panhorst, and was raised by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Willemina Panhorst. Emma was born and raised in Quincy, Illinois. She was a dress maker. She married Henry Stickman on 30 Oct 1884. To Emma and Henry Stickman was born one child, Violet W. Stickman. Henry Stickman died on 18 Sep 1885. Emma had a second child, Isabel Bertha who was born on 13 Jul 1889, out of wedlock, the father being a man named Otto Kathman. Emma later remarried Jack Fusselman on 2 Mar 1898. To Emma and Jack Fusselman was born one child, Blanche, on 22 Sep 1898. Emma's dress making business was operated out of her home on 2077 Spring Street, Quincy, Illinois, the house which she built in 1890 and lived in for the rest of her life.

Her name could possibly be Lizzie. An Otto Kathman married a Lizzie Bernzen in St. Louis, MO
