My father was an Italian prisoner-of-war (captured after the Battle of Kasserine Pass in North Africa). He was prisoner at a camp in Sicily and also in Camp 59 in central Italy, I believe in Ascoli Piceno. He escaped from the prison camp and was aided during his escape by several Italian families, including that of Rocco DePasquale in Roccamorice, Pescara, Italy.

I am wondering if this is the same Rocco DiPasquale that you are descended from? My father died in 2000, but I recorded his war experience.

Hello cousin!
I am Mary McAuliffe Babcock's daughter - Auntie Florence was her mom Rachel's sister. Mom and Auntie Florence were close in age even though they were niece and aunt. We just heard about her passing. I was lucky enough to see her last March when my aunt Evelyn McAuliffe Ivanisin's husband Mike died. I don't have any info on Sherry's children. Want to compare notes?

Hi Maureen,
I too am working on this line - It is my sister in law's family -she descended from your Uncle Louis DiPasquale.I have some info/documents on both Kattor and DiPasquale lines.I have been trying to figure out if some of the other DiPasquale's(var) of Worcester were siblings of Rocco(1888 ish Italy-1940ish Worc.)they all have similar naming patterns for thier children.Rocco's marriage record states his parents as Louis&Mary Genario.Wonder if Mary could have been a Rachel Maria ?Happy to share,
Lyn lconnors@metrocast.net

Searching for Naby Katter of Sarzur, Lebanon....

If anyone can help me find out any info please contact me: My grandfather is Lebanese and his name is Naby Katter and he met my grandmother Olga Velez in Ponce, Puerto Rico where he owned 3 jewelry shops. They had a child together out of wedlock in 1962 named Lolita Velez. As soon as she was born, he went back to Lebanon to take care of a "family emergency" and never returned.
My grandfather speaks fluent Spanish, English and Arabic and has a brother named Samir Katter. He might even still be in Puerto Rico and is in his 70's. If anyone has any info, please respond. My mom is an only child and she might have half siblings she doesn't know about.....
God Bless.
