You list that Casper died in 1879, but is this not him in the 1880 census?

1880 US Census - Buena Vista Township, Schuyler County, Illinois
NA Series: T9 Roll: 250 Page: 5 Sheet: 363 Date: 2 & 3 June 1880 ED: 265 D/F: 39/39
Casper Katzenberger, Head W M 58 Married Farmer SAX SAX SAX
Margaret Katzenberger, Wife W F 59 Married Keeping House BAV BAV BAV
Henry Katzenberger, Son W M 20 Single Works On Farm IL SAX BAV
Caroline Katzenberger, Daughter W F 17 Single IL SAX BAV
Charles Katzenberger, Nephew W M 11 Single IL SAX IL

If you search for him at the following link, you will find an image of his land purchase in Schuyler County, Illinois (80 acres in 1860). Note however that it lists him as being from Stark county, Illinois. That's significant, as the Illinois marriage index does list a Frederick Katzenberger who married in Stark county during 1856.

Perhaps you already knew all of this. My interest is Charles "Katzenburger" who is listed as Casper's nephew in the 1880 census. Charles was married 3 times by the 1910 census, and was the father of 8 children. His third wife was a first cousin (3x removed) of my wife's, Nancy C. THOMAS. I've also been told by family that a Frances JONES married Charles, but I don't know if that is correct. Frances and Nancy would have been 1st cousins once removed. It's possible that Frances married a different Katzenburger, or perhaps someone other than a Katzenburger, as I've had trouble tracking her. She was only 14 in the 1930 census, and Charles would have been 35 years older than her.

Charles divorced his first wife, and I have nothing on his second wife, other than they had a son Frank born in 1905. Frank, age 4, was being boarded with a Bakerbower family in Adams county during the 1910 census, while Charles was living with Nancy's mother and step-father. Nancy and Charles had 7 children together, 2 of whom are still living. I've found a burial index listing for Nancy in Brown county, but not for Charles.
