I am Also searching for George Kaye(farmer) /Mary Kaye who possibly lived in cheshire,(Require any information as to where they lived,Died & are Buried )who's son Joseph married Maria Warburton in June 1845 at the Cathedral Manchester,Lancashire, England. Have you turned up any further details?

Hi--What a proud ancestry you have. Mine is not near as exciting; however, my ancestors lived on a farm in Western Pennsylvania where a William Kaye bell was rung daily to call in the help for dinner,. It is marked with "1890 Kaye & Co, Lousiana" It is solid brass and has a diameter of 23". Do you know it's value? Again, congratulations on your proud heritage.

Kaye antique items with family crest

I have in my possession some antiques that were made in about 1830 with the family coat of arms of the Kaye family. The objects are 6 beautiful mother of pearl gaming counters with initials on one side and the full armorial with motto on the other. The most impressive item is a stunningly carved tortoiseshell box with the full crest on
one side and the family initial on the underside. It is a truly stunning piece of carving.

One of their children (is there other issue?) was Ezra KAY bpt. 14 Dec 1817 at Wentworth YKS ENG. Ezra in turn m. Dec qtr 1838 at Ecclesfield, YKS ENG to Mary Ann MASON. Ezra & Mary KAY with 1 child and heavily pregnant with the second (Eliza & Dinah) left Liverpool ENG on 4 April 1841 on "England", arriving Port Phillip on 17 July 1841. Once in Australia their family expanded to 13.
Would like to correspond with descendants of this family.

COLONEL R. A. KAYE
Colonel Ralph Arthur Kaye, C.M.G., who died last Friday, was the third son of James Kaye, of the Middle Temple. He was educated at Wellington College, and passed twelfth into the R.M.A. Woolwich. He was commissioned in the Royal Artillery, and served mostly with Mountain Batteries in India, taking part in the Hazara Expedition (1891) and the N.W. Frontier Expedition (1897-8). When the War broke out he was in command of the inner defences of Portsmouth Harbour. He was sent to France with a brigade of the then new 6in. howitzers, and tool part in the battles of the Somme and Arras. He was twice mentioned in dispatches, and for his service was promoted Colonel and made C.M.G. He retired from the Army in 1917 through ill-health. He married Geraldine, daughter of Colonel G. H. W. O'Sullivan, R.E.

just going through the ancestry sites and came across this imformation about one Charles Quane Kaye who came to New Zealand in 1851.I do believe he is my great great grandfather who meet his future wife on the journey here.One of his children was William (my great grand father),who had my grand father Robert Henry whose son was my father Godfry and then me who in turn has now had the 5th generation of New Zealanders.Please if you can give me anymore information about Charles this will be great.

Robert "Bob" Kaye, 64, Casco, died peacefully Tuesday evening, May 15, 2007, at Manor Care East, Green Bay.

He was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Door County to the late Henry and Hazel (Deprez) Kaye.

On Jan. 20, 1968, he married Beverly Kunesh in Pilsen. Together they had five children.

Bob was a member of the Casco Lions Club, and was Co-Sponsor of the Special K softball team with his brother-in-law, Tom. He will be best remembered for his shrewd cattle buying skills and crafty card playing tactics.

Survivors include his children, Pam (Dave) Nuthals, Casco; Lynn (Todd) Princl, Green Bay; Jeff (Kim) Kaye, Nebraska; Chris (Nicole) Kaye, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Wyatt, Kyle, Sawyer, Addison and Wesley; one brother, John (Lu Anne) Kaye, Casco; two sisters, Annette (Glenn) Teske, Kewaunee; Diane (Ty) Pyan, Green Bay; the mother of his children, Beverly Johnson, Green Bay; and his children's grandmother, Magdalen Kunesh, Luxemburg; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Michael; one grandchild, Sean Princl; and his children's grandfather, John Kunesh.

Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG, 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2007. Prayer service 6 p.m. with Rev. Milton Suess. I have a few Byron Kaye's in my family tree and maybe more,of which I am not aware of.

My great great grandfather was Byron Kaye m. Ellen Smith
they had a son Byron of which I know little about. He was born in Ontario Canada and died in Chicago Ill.

Last address that I know of for him is:
Byron Kaye, Rock River Mills Oregon, Ill.
He died in 1883 not sure if he married and had children or not.

Wish I could be more help on this specific person, I do have much on earier generations. If you think this might be your family.

I'm looking for the family of one Leonard F Kaye that was in the Air Force in the early 40's....he went to high school in NY and graduated in the 30's.
I have his class ring and some things that he gave my mother, whom he was close to before they went their own way and married other people.
I think he lived in San Diego before passing in 1999.

If you are his family, and can confirm where he went to high school and what year, please email me. I am wanting to get his belongings back to his family where they belong, and I will be glad to get these items to you. I also have WWII pictures of him and some planes, and a few of his Naval papers.

Oh my gosh....thank you SO much chatterchit. I'm not able to find addresses and numbers, I had only found his obit.
It's unfortunate, I use to LIVE in San Diego and am there every year. I wish I would have found him before his passing.

My Kayes's decended from James and Elizabeth Kaye in Victoria, B.C. Canada. Ernest and Annie Kaye lived in Port Washington, Kitsap Washington when Byron was 9 years old. Then he married Edna abt 1925. In 1930 he was 36 and Edna was 25 with one child John 4 yrs who had been born in Oregon. Byron age 30 with living with his younger brother in Sacramento, Ca. in 1930.

My great-grandfather, Charles Hensley, is listed w/ his household in the 1920 census in St Joseph, MO. One entry for this household indicates a niece named "Madelline Sims" who was born in Canada. Her age was 18 so I'm assuming a birth year of 1901 or 1902.

Charles's wife was born Madge L Sims...according to a family tree written out by my grandfather, Madge had a brother named Henry. I'm only guessing that Madelline was his daughter. I cannot find any other info on Henry at all. Nor his wife or family.

Can anyone help? Do you have a Henry Sims or Madelline Sims in your family tree? Henry was the son of Daniel Sims and Sara S. (Kaye) Sims.

I'm sorry. George's wife, not James', was Elizabeth.

James' first wife was indeed Hannah Hilroyd, but it looks like he actually travelled with his second wife Mary Ann Allright.

The only Joseph I can find in approximately the right time and place is here:

I am looking for information about my grandfather's ancestry.

His (adopted) name was Ronald Lewis Kaye, b. (Paul MacKenzie (sp?)) in Toronto on or about Jul 6 1930. He was adopted at about the age of two and raised in Furgus (sp?) Ontario. ("Furgus" is the spelling I was given; it would appear to be Fergus, Centre Wellington, Ontario).

His adoptive parents were Lewis B Kaye who died in 1979 in Ontario and Olive L (Melville) who died about 1980 in Ontario. It has been suggested that the Kayes were relatives of his birth parents, who are said to have died in an accident.

I have found a Lewis Kaye in Palmerston, Wellington Centre, Ontario, about whom little seems to be known. I suspect this is my (adoptive) great-grandfather - the location is certainly right, and the time seems to be about right, but I would need more information to be sure.

you will find a George Kaye born 1784 in Greenside, Yorkshire, whose son James immigrated to Canada from Kirkburton in 1842.

According to this site, George's wife was Elizabeth rather than Hannah but the other facts seem to line up well.

I suspect that I'm a descendant via James' son Lewis, Lewis' son Tom, and Tom's son Lewis. I believe that Lewis is my great grandfather but do not have quite enough information about him to be certain.

If you find any informaiton on Joseph and Ann, I'd be happy to hear about it.

He is said to be age 48 at the competitive website known as US SEARCH.

Zip code 30131 occurs at BirthDatabase.com for a Ronald D. KAYE and the website gives an exact date of birth for that man. His city or town is not given. None of these websites give the middle name Delane.

I know this is an old thread but I am hoping someone can answer my question. I am researching the Kaye & Company bell that was located at the Bland County Courthouse. Does anyone know how long the Kaye Bell foundry was in business? I know it began in 1841 and was still existing in 1911. Does anyone know if any records from the company exist and where would they be? We are trying to determine when the bell was put at the courthouse. The first courthouse built in 1872 burnt down in 1891 and no records are available as to whether the old bell survived or they had it recast or purchased a new one. I'm researching this family, (my grandmother was a Kay whose father was born in Hothersall,as it's mostly spelled later on) although I'm finding it a bit difficult sorting out the Kays - they're driving me mad, actually! I have a copy of William's will, and have the Ribchester St Wilfrid's records on microfiche, but Kays don't really start appearing much on those until the 1700s, and I can't find William's birth.
