Looking for family history information & living relatives of MATHEW W. O'KEANE (Keane, Kane, Cain, etc.)who left Ireland with his wife, Catherine (Prendergast) O'Keane, she originating from Accony region of County Mayo where the couple were said to have wed and left a son, George, with Prendergast parents when they left for America in May/June of 1848. Family stories have Mathew "coming from" County Waterford, Kerry, Tipperary and/or Clare. All counties could be valid since Mathew was an itinerant teacher and possibly involved in Irish Brotherhood which required movement from British. Both born in 1820's and both teachers. Have found a "Mathew Keane," born in the 1820's in Stradbally, County Waterford, but no complete link made as yet.
