Thanks very much! However, Michael Keating, according to closer descendants than me, was the one who stayed on the farm in Ireland all his life. Also, the immigration record at Ancestry shows sthat the father of the Michael Keating who sailed on the Caronia was also a Michael, not John.
About Catherine, it is pretty sure that she also stayed in Ireland, married to a Michael O'Grady. Nora also remained in Ireland, marrying a man named Connell
John was apparently born in 1898, one of a set of twins (the other one, along with his mother, died at birth). He is known to have gone to the U.S., supposedly around 1924, and worked for a while in a New Haven hospital, but the family lost track of him later. Inspired by your response, I just started checking the immigration records for him, but so far have not found a John Keating whose father was also named John. But there are a lot of John Keatings!
I wonder if you have any Keating connections?
