My grandfather, James Madison Keaton II had a brother named Willie E. Keaton, born May 6, 1870, died August 1908. Could this be the person you are looking for? Their parents were James Madison Keaton I and Margaret Ann Maples.

Thank you so very much for sharing the information found in the Family Bible records with me. I really appreciate your help. I agree we must be cousins. I descend from William E. Keaton's son Thomas who had a son William who is my father.

I guess William E. and James Madison III were brothers.

I do have information about the first Keader Keaton married to Hester. If you search Wikibin and type in Keader Keaton a biography of his life will pop up. Tapenna's father was John Dennard I believe. Hope that helps, Sharon

Looking for any information on Edward O. Keaton in Texas.

Have very little information on him, but I do know he married a Nellie Lee Gregory (maiden name) sometime AFTER 1915.

Most likely, it was in or around Abilene/Taylor County, Texas. Could have also been in or around Ballinger, Runnels County, Texas.

I also know he was a salesman, what he sold I do not know. As far as I know, he had NO CHILDREN with Nellie Lee Gregory and it was her second marriage.

I have noticed in Rootsweb Family Trees some have posted apparent exact birth dates for children of Kader & Sarah Peacock Keaton and wonder where these dates were found. Rare to see such apparent accuracy from early times. Unfortunately no one provided documentation or a source.

Some also indicate land records for this family but do not provide documentation or sources.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph D. Parsley; one son, John C. Parsley of Plainfield; and one daughter, Wanda R. Bunge of Brown County.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Unity Baptist Church in Brown County, 7361 Spearsville Road. Burial will be at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bloomington Health & Hospice, 333 E. Miller Drive, Bloomington, IN 47401.

Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown is in charge of arrangements.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Abanulo officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Chapel.

A Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. today at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Chapel.

He was born April 23, 1929 in Lerona, W.Va.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Charlotte Huff Keaton, Clarksville; sons, Kenneth S. (Janice) Keaton Jr. and Michael David Keaton, both of Clarksville; daughter, Kathryn (Gary) Buchanan, Clarksville; sister, Cleo (Bill) Johnson, Newport News, Va.; grandchildren, Kevin (Tirey) Keaton, Stephanie (Chris) Simon, Jennifer Buchanan, Courtney Buchanan and Dawson Buchanan; great-grandson, Jackson Simon.

Military will serve as pallbearers.

You found me! Are you an Ancestry member? Do you have access to the family tree section? I see Calla listed with a few different wives (Etta Blanche Brown and Mary Lee Clark)...I'm trying to throw information into my tree right now from census records as I haven't extended to this part of the family yet.

The Keaton branches look like they become intertwined back in the early 1800's when 2 groups of first cousins married. Would love to have that figured out!!

my father was john lee keaton of carter co. ky. he was born about 1896 i think.he had several bros & sists.i think one of his bros went to louisana and worked in the logging bus. i have been trying to locate some info on his family.he died in 1961 before i could find out much. thanks

In my Rand Mcnally atlas Keaton KY is in Johnson Co & the closest town is either Sandy Hook or West Liberty. Keaton is small part time post office with about a dozen nearby residences - no stores. I have been there but do not know anything about the history. Lots of Keeton/Keaton info in the West Liberty library.

I am researching Nelson T. Keaton/Keeton of Morgan Co. ky.
He was appointed as guardian for Robert, Jefferson & Judah in the 1823? Morgan Court Order Book - the boys were listed as the orphan sons of Polly. I have no info so far as to who Polly was. There were 2 other (older?) siblings. Marshall & Nancy. Robert married Lavina Fraley - also he was listed as "died before 1840". I am a descendant of Robert & am working to find his parents. Believe that Robert was born abt 1812/1813.

I see a Johnathan Alexander Keeton born 9 Apr 1822 in Wayne Co. and died 24 Apr 1884 but he was married to Lydia Halloway. They had several children among them Levi Marion but he married a Howell. I have that Johnathan's father's name was Zachariah.

I have a Jacob Keaton married to Lucinda Fuson. From a local history book, Before 1830, Jacob and Lucinda moved to Wayne county. jacob died abt 1848. Known children are Margaret, Mahala, Jonathan F, Elihu and Sarah. Lucinda remained a widow and in 1870 resided with her daughter Sarah and son in law r.G rutledge.
I have a John Keeton married Molly Minton. Have several Keatons and Keetons in this area. Can you tell me anything more? Mahala married William J.Grimes.

Looking for information about James C. Keaton (born April 1850) and his family. It appears that James C. Keaton is the son of James Keaton and Martha A. (Lacky) Keaton.

James C. Keaton married Francis "Fanny" Ferrell December 31, 1874, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.

I am researching this part of the family tree mainly for my grandmother as James C. & Fanny (Ferrel) Keaton were her 2nd great grandparents. We never did know anything about the Keatons and we don't have any photos of them either.

Is there anyone who has data on the ancestors or other relation to James C. Keaton?

It looks like James C. Keaton may be realted to some of the Keatons from Kentucky.

Any help would be appreciated.

My maiden name is Anna Keaton and I live near Charlotte NC.
From what I have found out so far is that Madison is my gg grandfather. My great grandfather is Robert Leonard and grandfather is Robert Frank. My father is Colla whose mother is Blanche Brown.
I've just started researching this but I have found a lot of names. I would love to hear stories if there's any.

Seeking any info. on Jonathan Keeton, b. u/k --lived in Wayne Co. TN and married Tennessee Ann Dicus before 1864. According to family history they had a child, initials maybe L.M. who later married a Grimes. There is a Jonathan Keeton in the 1850 census for Wayne Co., age 20, living in household of Lucinda Keeton. Any help appreciated!!!

Thank you for your post. I had seen some of this informaton before on a site for another family. I have always felt that Kader was related to Sarah Peacock, but the names get twisted among generations. I am down line from Kader Lawsons son William. I have a copy of his Civil War attendance record that shows him in Savannah at the time of the seige by Sherman, who had set up camp in Liberty county and burned Hinesville as a reminder of who was in charge. Notice the following 1830 census record. I suggest that head of household is the Kader born about 1805 died about 1835; wife Mary Strickland who married 2nd Dempsey Griffin. The male indicated as 0-5 appears to be Kader Lawson Keaton who married Julia Anne Shaw. Next door appears to be Sarah Peacock Keaton (c1775 of Anson Co. NC -1857 Carroll Co. GA) wife of Kader Keaton (c1769-c1820).

My right hand pinky finger curves or bends in toward the hand starting at the last joint on that finger. My 3rd great grandmother was Lydia Keaton, wife of Joel Ledbetter. Lydia was born about 1777 probably in North Carolina.

Notice that Sarah (Peacock) Keaton appears in the 1830 Liberty Co. GA. census as follows:
Sarah Keaton 1m 0-5, 2m 15-20, 2fm 10-15, 1fm 20-30 1fm 50-60. [born abt 1775 - Sarah Peacock?]

She is reported to have taken land in Carroll Co. GA and I suspect she is the following one. Geography and age fits. Sarah is not indicated in the 1840 Liberty Co. GA census.
